During the Speaking Out Movement in June 2020, Scurll was accused of taking advantage of an inebriated 16-year-old girl in 2015. Scurll released two statements in which he did not deny the allegations, but claimed the encounter was consensual. ROH subsequently announced that they had launched an investigation concerning the allegations. Scurll did not take part in TV tapings after ROH returned from a hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and his profile was removed from the company's website in October.
Out of curiosity I looked up the age of consent in the UK and it's 16. So legally he didn't do anything wrong. Morally that's up to you to decide.

A lot of people believe due to the fact she was drunk, her consent isn’t verifiable. It’s a dilemma, morally I think stay away from drunk hoes. He posted about a year ago that The Elite didn’t turn their back on him though

No one wants the stink of anything controversial on their business.(Besides WWE) Jay Briscoe was blacklisted from TNT/TBS for saying he didn't want his daughter's to be taught LGBT bullshit in the early 2010s.
He even apologized and they still wouldn't let him on.
This is issue. They've built it so Women can't consent when drunk. Even if at the time they wanted to, they can wake up the next morning and say nah I really didnt want to do that and a guy can go to jail for rape.
If both the male and female are drunk, the guy can still be liable.

I’m really split on this issue, super case by case basis sort of thing, if a woman is outright plastered then yeah don’t try to initiate sexual contact or you’re just asking for trouble, she probably won’t even remember most of what happened. But then that leaves it open for scumbag women to sleep with a dude after one mimosa and call it rape the day after.

Hurt Syndicate rumors heating up again.
I am almost inclined to believe it because yes, modern wrestling has been really retarded with stories not just AEW, but the way MJF joined the group and nothing came of it and then he left the group and nothing has come of it either that’s one big work and this is part of that work or they just rushed to take him out so that they could finish up the Hurt Syndicate and release them. They did this when William Regal wanted to leave. Instead of having some good idea to at least finish up the story and then let him leave. They just sort of frantically flailed their arms on live television had him leave the group like four separate times and then he was gone.
It also seems that the WWE failures who crawl to AEW are always only willing to put over WWE guys which would explain Edge randomly partnering with the heel Hurt Syndicate to start a program of Hurt Syndicate vs The Revival and Revival can win the tag tournament and HS can lose to them because they’re former WWE guys so yay!

Watching these old NWA and WCW really makes me understand and sympathize with why Cornette is so jaded with today's wrestling. I don't blame him at all. People in the crowd going absolutely apeshit for the teams that are over. Watching the background is fascinating. These people are hanging on the edge of their seats for every move. Sure you get big pops at certain moments in modern wrestling, but people definitely aren't as fully engaged as back then. I guess it's a symptom of modernity. There's no mystery in the world anymore. Everyone's attention span is completely burned out. I'm in mourning for a world that no longer exists and that I barely got to experience. I talked to my mom a bit today and she said it's not all in my head. She said she was sad I never got to experience a lot of that old world as an adult and only caught the very end of it as a kid.

I agree, the smartest thing to do is not put yourself in that situation. But if both people are intoxicated then it should cancel it out since no one can consent but, it doesn't work like that.

I 100% agree with this, everyone used to be excited for the product and now 99% of the community just wants whatever juicy dirt sheet scoop they can get and then only pop when that scoop somehow becomes reality. There’s only substance to them if the happenings are rumored beforehand. I miss when I was genuinely surprised from this shit.

I'm not going to complain about MVP being a prima dona when I've seen the types Tony wants to promote. Could you imagine being one of the only genuine stars in the company and Tony comes up to you and says, "Hey, tonight I'm thinking that Orange Cassidy should go over Bobby Lashey clean?" At the very least they seem open to the idea to put over younger talent, so I think their intentions are in the right place, but is awful that they decided to become primadonnas because of this. Is not like the AEW Tag Team titles are something special anymore.
