On the bright side, this is showing that the angle is working like a charm, Rollins gets nuclear heat and shows how much of an effecive heel he is. Sometimes people mark out is part of the charm of pro wrestling.
I don't know that twitter counts as nuclear heat when they will just sing his song on Monday and were singing it to leave the show. I am admittedly posting very specific reactions because they are funny, lets not rush to pretend Seth is some generational heel.

Yeah like when Rock bloodied Cody or when Cena turned heel some of my favorite parts were the little kids crying lol. It gives me a glance at what the 80s kids must have felt when Hogan lost the title to Andre.

You are correct, but I'm not implying anything that Rollins is the second coming of Shawn Michaels in his heel era. I am just saying that at the very least the reaction on social media means that the angle is perfectly working as intended for some people and the timing was the best and that is why some of the people are pissed off right now. You don't see that kind of reaction nowadays, full babyface Punk is on the table and they definitely have to grab the money on the table.

Exactly this, this kind of reactions is what makes pro wrestling so great, if the kids can react like that to something happening to their heroes, then the job was done masterfully.

I wonder how long people will keep claiming Seth is the next HBK and deserves to always be in the main event scene. The song does annoy some people like how not everyone wants the show to awkwardly pause while Jey USO directs people to do a ton of YEETs. I wonder how much 2019 left a shit stain on his and Becky's legacy and his dressing like a eccentric gay man.

A lot of it, look at how just now they're making him a main eventer again after the incredibly shitty booking he has been given through the years. It's almost a miracle he barely survived that Hell in a Cell match. Or when he started having spergouts against the indies and inviting to fight Will Ospreay for some reason.

SummerSlam 2025 Day One review:
- Jey/Roman vs Bron/Bronson was good. Hated the YEET shit early on, but once that was done with they took the rest of the match seriously. The Brons probably should have won, they could have used a big win like this to elevate them. Jey and Roman were not going to be hurt one bit by losing.
- Raquel/Roxanne (c) vs Alexa/Charlotte was solid. They killed off the crowd for most of the match but got them invested by the end. The title change made sense. Interested to see what this means for Judgment Day.
- Sami vs Kross III was boring as fuck. The worst match they've had and the other two weren't good, either. This story sucks ass and hopefully it's over now.
- Tiffy (c) vs Jade was fine. They basically traded moves and kept it simple. I'm happy Tiffy retained because Jade is simply not ready for one of the top titles.
- Drew/Logan vs Orton/Jelly Roll was about what I expected: A harmless celebrity match. Jelly did his part well while the professionals carried the load. Jelly taking the splash through the announce table was cool. I'm surprised Drew and Logan won, but I'm glad they did because it makes more sense.
- Gunther (c) vs Punk was really great. Gunther kicked the shit out of Punk for 90% of the match before letting his guard down and getting busted open on the table spot. Gunther being bloodied and disoriented allowed Punk to get the win. Loved the storytelling here.
- Seth Rollins cashing in was done well. WWE took a risk by keeping Rollins off TV to sell the injury and it paid off. Rollins coming out with the crutches only to reveal he was perfectly fine was great. Punk not running away even though he had ample time to made perfect sense for a babyface, even if it did make him look kind of dumb. I'm glad they had Rollins cash in here, that way it won't be in the back of everyone's minds during Cena vs Cody. Rollins is most definitely going into next year's WrestleMania as the champion, and the story with Bron is right there for the taking so I'm hoping that's what they do.

Overall, I thought it was a pretty good show. Good opener, middle could have been better, and a great ending.

That’s definitely not the case but the crash out from many on social media was insane (and funny) even by IWC standards, I don’t even really have a hateboner for Phil but I don’t think I’ve seen nearly as much seethe from fans of a specific wrestler like i did last night when Seth cashed in
Bron is right there for the taking so I'm hoping that's what they do.
That’s exactly what I’m hoping happens, Seth vs Breakker is exactly what I want for one of the WrestleMania main events next year, I think you could even make the argument for Night 2 would certainly make a lot of people’s perception start to change when it comes to the World Heavyweight Championship/Big Gold 2.0 right now a lot of people (understandably) see it as second to the Undisputed Championship

I hope that Bron does a tribute to Scott some day, doesn't have to be soon, wear he dons the chainmail. Main eventing Mania would be the perfect place to do it.

(mp4 Attachment only went up to 2 seconds for some reason? Someone else will have to archive the clip)
A kind redditor explained why this went so wrong:
There's a reason that lighter fluid is normally used for flaming table spots instead of alcohol. Alcohol is soluble in water which makes it more difficult to control. When the guy hit the table, instead of suffocating the fire, the alcohol soaked his clothes and hence the fire spread to his body. Alcohol starts boiling and evaporates at 173 degrees Fahrenheit.

Butane evaporates when in contact with air and so once you light it, the fluid goes to a gaseous state very quickly. Butane's boiling point is only 31 degrees Fahrenheit. It can still burn you but it burns much quicker and so when a body hits the flame, it's not absorbing much liquid and will more than likely suffocate the fire.

You saw how the ring itself was burning after the spot, that's why. And yes, not having a fire extinguisher at the ready only made it worse

See you on Monday
I’m not even the biggest Seth fan out there but the sheer amount of seethe he caused last night made Night 1s ending that much more enjoyable, I don’t hate Punk either but his fans getting pissed off made me go to bed laughing my ass off, only way Night 2s ending can top it is Cody going heel but I don’t think it’s going to happen because that would mean Heel vs Heel at Crown Jewel, still should be good
