I'm trying to find the interview that was trending months ago, where Hogan was visibly looking ill. I think ariel helwani was one of the people interviewing him.

If you’re a wrestling fan now, it’s because of the work Hogan did at some point or another. I was a young kid watching wrestling in the 90s, and Bash at the Beach 96 flipped my world upside down. Scummy person or whatever, don’t care, he’s the biggest icon in professional wrestling.

Trite to say but don’t hate the player, hate the game. Hogan was a walking cash cow throughout the majority of his wrestling career and no one wanted to say “no” to him. They clearly could have, but put yourself in the shoes of being a promoter in the 80s and 90s. You’d be foolish to not give him what he wanted.

Stark contrast, TNA, when he was well past his prime and was resting on his past accolades. Foolish, but Hogan didn’t put himself in a position to doom that company. That was Dixie Carter.

I’ve done so much research on Hulk over these past few years, and in terms of specifically the wrestling business (not personal dealings), he just knew more about it than anyone else. Terry Bollea’s biggest fault was that he knew how much he was worth and knew how to get what he wanted. It’s really up to others to give in and buy into that hype. They did, for better or worse.

I think the thing that made me laugh most was reading the recounts of Billy Kidman who thought his name carried the same weight as Hogan’s.
 
I would be more upset about Hulk passing away but he was before my time I was more of a Undertaker and Stone Cold fan also I read up on Hulk lore and he was kind of a scummy person like when his son got into a car accident and paralyzed the passenger and when he tried to sue he said to his son over the phone "Did you hear the vegetable wants to sue us" and when he cheated on his wife with his daughters friend. That being said wrestling wouldn't be where it is today without him so love the artist hate the person RIP Hulk

the thing about him was he was such a big star that he pulled rank a lot to get his way like at that Caesars Palace Wrestlemania he demanded to walk out as the WWF Champion and threatened to leave the company if he didnt get what he wanted he also had a lot of creative control over the NWO storyline in WCW and it was great at first but it slowly turned into a dumpster fire.

Current fans are too young to have watched him and believe the narrative. Wrestlers from Hogan's era were all scumbags, but they want to believe Hulk was the only one because Bret Hart hates him.

And he slighted a protected group.
