Jericho simply isn't entertaining anymore. He's a slob that lost the plot, he became a mark for himself and thinks he's living the rockstar life

Jericho as the first AEW champion was the right move since he was the only "mainstream" name in the company, but once his reign was over he should have taken a backseat and been more of a mentor to younger guys while occasionally getting involved in more important things as the respected veteran. Instead, he was constantly putting himself out there to be the center of attention in increasingly retarded gimmicks routinely beating guys half his age. Then he has the temerity to act like he's doing them a favor because they got to work with him, what a crock of shit. Nobody wants to see an old man pretend he's young. Nobody cares about his crappy boomer band. Jericho is delusional.

MJF retiring him back in 2021 would have been perfect.

guy couldnt lose if he tried, he was the only tough enough winner to not get released after 2 weeks then goes onto have a hall of fame career, beating John Cena in the main event of WrestleMania at the height of SuperCena (although he was overshadowed by The Rock in that instance) and a 2x WWE Champion with several midcard and tag title runs, and he will always be remembered as the guy who BTFOed Bryan and the Smark Movement, so yeah even though people will probably forget him 10 years after he retires he won in the end.
>The Smark Movement
lol
The Miz is a consummate company man and is probably one of the best talkers in the business but he can never ever have a handle of how to wrestle and work a crowd like Danielson did

Something that Jericho has kinda forgotten about.

Less is more. Whether that's in term of exposure or beer gut.

Truth looks great, sounds great and has been sparingly used. He also has great comedic timing and is legit entertaining. Same can't be said for Jericho's mid-life crisis/re-living the 80s antics.
To add to your point, Ron is also in an special minority of wrestlers that have no baggage or beef that would drive a wedge between him and his fans. Seriously, has anyone ever had any bad things to say about him? Any salacious stories of him getting drunk and showing his ass in public? Any political hot takes that would result in people trying to cancel him?

I'd take any R-Truth comedy segment over watching current Jericho being a glory-hound in AEW. The latter should just be mentoring wrestlers at this point instead of acting like a has-been rock star on TV.

How is it that Ron Killings can go from being a silly comedy act to getting huge monster pops as a main event babyface at the age of 53, yet Jericho can't generate more than lukewarm grunts at best when he's only one year older?
Truth can steal the segment but he never seems to steal the spotlight. But he can also be slid into a main event match like he did with Cena and it doesn't feel out of place.

Like others stated Jericho going to AEW at the start was perfect for both sides. The Painmaker gimmick was actually cool. Then the whole MJF dance skit stuff was the start of the decline. It just got dumber and dumber.

Ironically Jericho has become almost exactly what he hated in WCW. An old veteran taking up TV time and going over on younger talent. I say almost because Jericho is a few years older then the WCW veterans he accused of doing that.

Wrestling would be far more fun if the companies and fans went back to pretending it was real.

The Rock having fucking press conferences where he discusses things like a fucking movie director interview is gay as hell and incredibly shameful.
1000% this. I reckon Triple H is somewhat trying to do this by working the dirtsheets with false info. And making shit like R Truth's sacking look real when it was a work. I just want to believe in Wrestling again, man.

Yeah, not digging the Blake part of the name. Monroe is fine. Should have kept Mariah so some of the alliteration is still there.
It won't really matter because it won't change the fact she'll be winning the title soon. There's a tournament on NXT with the winner getting to face Jacy at Evolution II.

5 Star Nostalgia Match for me as it has 3 of the GOATs. Feels like a mini version of Stone Cold vs. Bret Hart at Wrestlemania.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=AwFr480f2eQI love how Bret and Macho go into the crowd, it just gives it such a more chaotic vibe and those in attendance go their money's worth. And Bret still had the most devastating pile driver the industry has ever seen. Storyline it doesn't really make sense with Bret cheating with some kind of brass knuckle "device" and Hulk screwing Macho over but still both veterans looked great that night
Bret is my personal GOAT for a reason, in-ring hes probably top 3, shame WCW didn't treat him as big of a deal as they should have and then the Goldberg incident

Workrate doesn't matter and I'm sure Danielson's draw ability is why AEW still has no milly.
Miz won.

Workrate does matter, otherwise guys like WCW's Renegade, Giant Gonzalez, or Tom Magee would be stars.

But it's like the law of diminishing returns. A pure workrate guy like Malenko or Lance Storm isn't going to move the needle because they can't talk or tell a story, just as a 'sports entertainer' (or whatever) can only do so much.

You gotta have both, to some extent, otherwise you're gonna have a low ceiling.

History repeats itself. He turned himself into Hulk Hogan.
