Even Gail Kim vs Awesome Kong was stupid. Gail Kim was pretty small (albeit in good shape) and Awesome Kong was being pushed as a complete monster (and was pretty huge)

I feel the same way watching someone like Ricky Starks try and do any offense/punch against someone like Powerhouse Hobbs. Back in the day if you had someone like Bret Hart go against a bigger guy, they would work the knee or something instead of just trying to do their normal offense.

I was off wrestling at that point (and still am let's be honest) so I never watched Kim's TNA run, but I always got the impression that fued was presented as Kim constantly losing against Kong only to finally pick up a win after months (years?) of trying? Classic David vs Goliath? I'm too lazy to look up a YT video about me so someone tell if I'm off base was with this.

Funny you make that comparison because back in the day women's wrestling was treated the same as midgets, just a special attraction to give the crowd a break before the main event. Women's wrestling was never meant to be taken seriously (Yes that includes Joshi before that one guy comes in here sperging out, stay in your pedo containment zone) and they were only around to keep some of the boys from fucking random rats and instead just getting "road wives". But then current year came along around the time of the Diva's Revolution and all the intergender shit on the indies (where guys would carry women to watchable matches because they were getting blown after for putting them over) and the crowds got tricked into thinking women can work. I don't know if fans became gayer or the redditors took over a bigger percentage (same difference really) but these were the same morons that would claim Rhonda Rousey could beat up Floyd Mayweather and actually believed it. Now everything has to be 50/50 with tv time and every woman needs to be featured or else fans keep bitching and "protesting" that it's not enough. Imagine if the WNBA merged with the NBA and women had to have equal playing time against the men with everyone pretending that Caitlyn Clark was better than Stephen Curry and deserved the spotlight. Of course that would be ridiculous, but because "wrestling is fake" it's somehow ok and people go with it.
I forgot what my point was going to be with this rant but basically everything sucks and will keep getting gayer and it's mostly the fans' fault. Instead of gatekeeping wrestling away from the mainstream, the smarks and neckbeards should have pushed against the fags taking over but now it's too late. Gatekeep your remaining hobbies better and pirate all good content before it gets edited or replaced with slop so you can still remember when things didn't suck as much.
 
We all kinda forget, because R-Truth hasn't aged in like, 20 years, that the man is 53. For as beloved as he is, I have my doubts that he would've gotten anything else beyond a token Legends deal if he was resigned.

At least he got to fight his childhood hero for a World Title before he was sent off. R-Truth Hall of Fame spot when - also physical WWE Hall of Fame when...
 
I'm disappointed, because I would have really enjoyed a 2-man power trip if John Cena convinced R-Truth to join him. Ron and John Cena going on a rampage in the tag team ranks while John continues to defend the belt with Ron constantly jumping his opponents on the way to the ring.

I'm kind of surprised that they aren't just letting him retire in the WWE.
 
Now that I think about it if this was planned then they should've had the match be under the stipulation that if Truth lost he had to retire, so that way it would be Cena being more of a heel by retiring beloved stars.
 
Strange to release R-Truth out of nowhere like this considering how popular he is with the WWE audience. Could have given him some kind of farewell tour, which would have been good timing now with Cena on his as well. It's not like he's a major player or anything.
 
I wish they'd do more with the retirement runs. Like fuck I'm sure Truth has his fans because the man has been wrestling for decades and is still the highlight of the majority of storylines he's in. You're telling me they couldn't do more than just a bye on twitter?
Again I'm not trying to hype up AEW because the more I watch the more I notice its issues, including two very insufferable fags in that very match, but Sting's retirement match was awesome what with all the spots and callbacks and even them getting Sting's sons to play his previous incarnations.
