Darby doesn't have any credibility as a top guy. He's definitely over with the AEW fans, but that alone doesn't mean he should be their world champion. He's been presented as a mascot. WWE has the same problem with Jey Uso, I don't give a fuck how many shirts the guy sells or how much the crowd does the yeet shit with him, he isn't world champion material and I'm hoping after this pity run he never gets a world title again. Back to AEW, the easiest solution to the Moxley problem is having Ospreay beat him at the Texas show. He's the top babyface, he's presented as a top guy in that company. For as much yapping as Ospreay does when there's no pressure on him, let him finally try to prove he's a real draw. Waiting for Darby is a mistake.

I actually agree with you on Darby. I like the guy but i'm an AEW fan so i have a bit of buy-in with him. Him having the belt will be the same as when Hanger had it, cool for the fans but completely uninspiring for anyone outside of the AEW bubble.

I agree somewhat with the idea of Ospreay getting a run because he is genuinely a once in a lifetime talent but i'd also be ok with a Mox vs. Omega match where Kenny squashes Jon in 30 seconds for the belt to set up a long term storyline of Mox trying to prove himself as a singles wrestler again with no fuckery after the guy he came to AEW to beat ran right through him after coming back from a career threatening illness.

Either option ending this dogshit Deathriderz stuff would be a godsend.

Listening to Cornette clips, they had the Dark Side guy on. He revealed that the settlement Daffney received from TNA for her lawsuit was them giving her 1000 actions figures of her and Stevie Richards that they couldn't sell. :story:

That's the most LOLTNA shit I've ever heard.

I'm surprised they were able to get away with the "All these action figures are equal in value to the money being asked and will cover the medical expenses," argument. Either Daffney had god awful lawyers and/or a retarded judge who believed that.

If she signed her own action figures and sold them she might've gotten something for them, but probably not enough to cover the medical bills and given the difficulty in selling them, absolutely not worth the effort

Speaking of which
Oh shit. The Daffney episode is really gonna hurt is it?

I actually remember watching that chokeslam spot live and you can instantly tell she realizes she doesn't want to do it the second she's lifted up. Panics like fuck, stiffens up and makes no effort to tuck her chin.

Both her and abyss were good workers but it was a dumb spot done purely for shock value. I would imagine he didn't feel great about it afterwards.

Lolwwe could never.

I'm beginning to think that the WWE relationship with Marigold might not last that long considering Rossy just shoot criticized his current world champ for being fat.

Also, the company advertised for girls in the 11-13 range as new trainees when it started up and before Rossy got the boot from Stardom he said he didn't like AZM because she looked like a grown woman despite being promoted as a young up and comer. She was 15 at the time.

Omega and Asuka/Kana have both made barely veiled accusations as to how much of a creep he is. Hunter should probably forget about building NXT Japan with this pedo and just buy NOAH instead.

Most people will forget about this in the next few months, like how people forget about Triple H mentioned he hadn't read the Janel Grant lawsuit when it first came out, and when he was asked about not pushing enough black wrestlers and having enough black wrestlers on the PPVs. WWE will most likely keep using Marigold as a partner since Iyo enjoyed getting to wrestle Utami, and they'll probably keep doing small crossover stuff like with Noah and GCW for example they have a upcoming crossover PPV with AAA.

People still are fans of Dave Meltzer despite him saying Peyton Royce had gained weight, the outrage about these sorts of things fades over time.

i wonder what will happen when wwe is a monopol by law.
you joke, but they probably wouldn't even need government intervention to become a monopoly at this point, AEW Survives off Shahids other business ventures all it takes would be Shahid getting tired of funding his sons clown show, and I still do think WWE is the better product of the Big 2 but still competition generally speaking motivates competitors to offer a better product so a monopoly wouldn't be a good situation for fans

thats just comically horrible, also that reeks of TNAs financial situation being absolutely shit at the time

They've been a monopoly since WCW died anyone telling you otherwise is an idiot. Tna roh and njpw aren't and will never be competitive
AEW barely tops WWE's developmental program for ratings. WWE is absolutely a monopoly as far as wrestling companies go, although they'd probably just say they're an entertainment company if it went to court
