Backlash was the first PPV ive skipped in over a year, ill almost certainly watch MITB though, I think the product is cooling slightly but not nearly to the extent Zoomers cry about on Twitter

I got nothing to say other than "good for him." I was firmly in the camp of thinking he was a dumbass that would get himself hurt or killed but I don't mind eating crow in moments like this.

A very happy birthday to the late Andre the Giant the vault has graced us with a compilation of some rare Andre footage from several promotions, the one that I found interesting was Giant Baba coming out at what appeared to be an American show only to be interrupted now I know there was a Andre/Baba match in Japan but didn't know Baba made an appearance at a WWF show.

He thanked AEW "for everything in life" so i think he did this because he wanted to.
To be fair, he's under contract with them and they gave him a shit ton of time off to train for the climb and actually do it along with being ok with the inherent risk of him dying. One of the big things when AEW was being founded was that they'd let the wrestlers have time off for personal stuff. It might not be the best idea for their bottom line or story continuity but it's a cool thing.

Some redditor had an amusing comment that some "Stand Up For WWE" true believer would be found frozen to death up there trying to take the AEW flag down.
I still can't fucking believe that they actually ran that campaign.

With Backlash and SNME being so close together it definitely felt like they had to hold back on the Backlash card. That Gunther vs McAfee match had no business being on a PLE.

I thought everything in AEW was in a holding pattern at the moment as they're waiting for Darby to come back and be 'made' much like how Hangman was 'made.'
He's never really gonna 'be' a star because he has the physique of a 12 year old female gymnast. Same issue that Jack Perry had/has (what the fuck is he up to these days?)

Jack Perry's physique only became a problem for him when he stopped being a white meat babyface and tried to convince people he was the second coming of Steve Austin. The problem isn't just size. The problem is aura and authenticity, both of which Scapegoat lacks. Darby has aura, and he manages to come off as a grungy dirty punk despite having more money than anyone could ever hope to see.

I dunno. He's always given 'sulky teenager' vibes to me and him being paired up with Sting for like a year didn't help.
I don't care if someone is smaller or whatever. I think having variety is important for this gay sport. I just don't get the 'aura' or 'vibe' he has.
He reminds me a lot of Vampiro, actually. A guy who was touted as a big deal and I just kinda looked at and was like 'why?'
Different tastes, I guess.
