I don't think Austin Theory is an amazing talent or anything but he pretty blatantly got buried just to send a message to the fans that we were in a new era.

Been watching old Tiger Mask matches. For as many wrestlers have taken inspiration from those two, I feel very few actually appreciate how great they were at actually making matches look competitive. Obviously they're cooperating with each other the entire time, but the flips and kicks in their matches don't feel like they were being done for the sake of having flips and kicks.

Like this spot right here. It's fast paced, there are flips, but there's actual logic being applied. Tiger Mask does a quick roll to get out of a wrist lock and then does a front flip to reverse it into a throw. Dynamite acts quickly and front flips onto his feet to keep his back off the mat. In the kayfabe world they operate in, neither of them are thinking about what move looks the best, nor are they trying to showboat against each other. They're competing against each other, and they're using the most effective moves and techniques in their arsenal to win.

Shotzi wouldn't be a surprise, they moved her from the main roster back to NXT and then removed her from the Tatum/Gigi team. Theory getting cut is a bit surprising, he was being pushed hard when Vince was there and Corny thought he was going to be the next superstar but that obviously never happened and they stuck him with that Aussie git who will probably get cut with him. I still think Theory had some kind of backstage heat, him getting buried as soon as Vince left was just too much of a coincidence for me to think otherwise.

Austin Theory wasn't helped by the booking, they really made it clear he was being humiliated as a "fuck you" to Vince, but he didn't help himself very much either. At some point he needed to have that great promo or that great match to let people know he had the potential to be a star, and yet that never happened. Theory is solid if unspectacular in the ring and in shape, and that's it. That describes a bunch of wrestlers. He's just a guy. The one thing Theory's got going for him is that he's still young and can turn things around.

I thought I was the only one who never got the appeal of OSW.

Does anyone have their theories about the death of Abismo Negro? Was it a cartel hit or a result of his drug use?

Occam’s razor suggests he just had a schizo episode (consistent with the testimony of witnesses before and leading up to his death), and died by misadventure. Not an uncommon story when dealing with the mentally ill unfortunately.

Yeah DK's pre roidy magoo stuff if brilliant and still holds up forty odd years later. This stuff from is Japan is great for the acrobatics but you should check out his matches from World of Sport against the likes of Mark Rocco it's a smaller ring talking fucking fisher price babys first wrestling ring small but they would go smashmouth style all the way Rocco probably one of the few people would could keep the pace of dynamite and give it back in spades.

wouldnt be surprised if Omos goes too.
Omos should be used as a freak attraction. Genuinely surprised he never had a filler match with Roman at a Saudi show.
Got a chance to see a wrestling documentary called The Death Tour. It’s pretty good. And it kind of helps the wrestling fan in you to not be a cynical asshole for about 90 minutes and change.
Isn't the Death Tour the Canadian circuit which is shows in super rural, bumfuck areas?

I enoy some of their retro reviews, buts more about the format than the people doing it. Guys riffing on video clips from silly Attitude Era, WCW, TNA stuff. I wouldn't watch an entire late WCW ppv, but I'll watch clips of it with commentary. Kinda like the appeal of TGWTG content pre-skit takeover.

OSW themselves are unfunny unless theyre riffing directly off silly wrestling stuff. They have the genx/millennial comedy cancer of constantly referencing a random Simpsons episode like its the funniest thing ever. I prefer the Deadlock Syncs, those guys have some similar problems but without the accents and the editors cut out most of the fluff.

I would take cringey Simpsons references over Wrestling Bios shitty David Flair AI songs any day of the week.

I feel like his Reliving The War series has seriously fallen off a cliff. It was fun when the jokes were sprinkled throughout but it just feels like the half of the videos now are just bits and almost all of the bits suck.
