Yeah, that spot was absolutely fucking disgusting. There's zero reason to have that. Ever.

Tony needs to grow some balls and tell wrestlers no for a change. Vince stopped wrestlers from doing stupid shit all of the time (like when Mae Young wanted Bubba Ray Dudley to powerbomb her off of a steel cage through a table)
 
Tony wonders why people mock him. When I was a teenager maybe this shit would have been cool, but as an adult I think this shit is fucking disgusting. Who in the fuck thought this was a good idea. Say what you want about Triple H right now but at least he seems to give a shit about his staff and looks out for them. Tony if you read this you are a fucking retard and a joke of a boss running this company.

If you ignore the point of such a spot being safe or not or disgusting or not you cannot ignore that it was a completely pointless spot for the match itself bc Cope lost again bc Moxley's crew interfered again. It was just in the match for sake of it. These retards are risking their health just for a pop, for a mere few seconds of aaahhh and ooohhh. And they give it even away for free. And when they don't give it away for free on TV and do it on PPV they do stupid shit that they won't show again on TV bc "it's to brutal" so they can't even milk it really. And it get's worse bc they undermine their "adult" spots and talk about pressing charges against a character bc he simply attacked another guy backstage. Pressing charges for punching someone but not for murdering someone with a plastic bag or setting people on fire with a flame thrower. Fucking retards.

I finished reading Heenan's book recently, and one of the things that he criticizes Bischoff for was that he would spend an outrageous amount on stupid shit like celebrity appearances and wouldn't even advertise it because he wanted to surprise the audience and thought that that would lead to people tuning in next week or buying tickets. At this point Shad needs to act like a father and either pull the plug or hire competent people, this is not even amateur hour at this point. If they had to do this shitty spot, which they didn't, atleast make a spectacle out of it, make it about something meaningful, advertise it for weeks and for God's sake put it on ppv. Compare this to something like the hiac match punk and drew had or punk and seth's matches in the netflix premier and the cage match recently. They didn't even involve a belt but the stories justified the brutality, what's all this for? Tony is at this point starting to seriously hurt the industry, this is no alternative promotion, he needs to know his role, which is being the piggy bank and shut his mouth. He can do the press conferences and whatnot to live his dream but booking is out of his capabilities, I hope these morons don't have creative control in their contracts so that if a new boss does come in who's not a pussy mark, they can do what they're told. Won't happen unfortunately.

I had walked past the tv I had AEW running on as they showed the bat stuck in his back but I didn't really get what was going on, I had wandered off around when Speedball Mike Bailey showed up
yeah that's amazingly stupid in a number of directions at once, most of them have been covered but yeah
a) giving it away for a nothing match with no great foreshadowing
something this big should have been the climax to a long feud and probably the finish of the rubber match
b) the total disregard for personal safety EVEN by the very low standards of wrasslin
I've always said that if I gave a fuck about them as people I'd be horrified they were involved in wrasslin, but there's stupid of getting in the business and there's stupid like this
this is some shindy craphole garbage wrestling beyond AAA at it's most Mexican or even Zona 23, who is literally out of a junkyard and wrestles on the cars
they at least understand the idea of "make it LOOK bad" vs "actually go out and injure each other"
c) it doesn't even have _that_ great of a visual
if you're doing something dangerous at least get a good visual out of it, make it memorable, fire, explosions, blood
that could have just as easily been a suplex into any pile of crap that would stick in Mox's back

there was a quote I don't fully remember about Method Acting and there was Older Veteran Of Stage And Screen and New Blood getting ready for... I'll say The Deerhunter, and New Blood is going on about "I've stayed up for two days straight and blahblahblah" and all the crazy shit he's done to get into the role, Vet looks at him like he's the biggest sped on the planet and asks "my boy, have you tried _acting_?"
