When people complain about modern Wrestlemanias having filler matches, I tell them "Nobody paid for Wrestlemania VIII to see Owen Hart vs. Skinner."

Variety is the spice of life I guess.WM3 is a great spectacle, but I challenge anyone to sit through King Kong Bundy chasing midgets around the ring.
Have you seen the gif of Show running the ropes? I don't remember if he was still in WCW or if he was already in WWF at the time, but the dude was fucking fast for his size, too. Makes one wonder what kind of spectacle he would have been if he was allowed to really show (kek) what he could do.Youtube recommended a clip of some Raw in late 99 or something. It was Show and Kane.
Kane comes off the ropes to get some speed, makes a little hop to get up, and Show overhead pressed him before tossing Kane like a sack of shit straight to the floor.
Ignoring how wild it is that Kane took a bump that big straight to the floor on his back/hip, the power Big Show needed to actually catch Kanes big ass for the press in the first place, and then hoist him all the way up is wild.
I forget just how strong Show was until some shit like that comes across my screen, because he was mostly used to show how strong OTHER guys were. Which is so strange. Show was strong enough to catch a 300+ pound man in a jump and then overhead press him. No stumbling. No readjusting for grip. Just caught the fucker and pressed him over his head with ease.
Makes it easier to believe when Kurt says Show once grabbed him by the tights and carried him like a little boy.
Call me crazy, but I don't think WM 9 is as bad as it's made out to be. I think the first two matches are really solid and even the tag title match I find to be enjoyable, the rest of the matches outside of two are average at best. I think this WM gets a bad rep cause of the Taker/Gonzales match and the ending but I've seen worse WM's (WM11).Yeah, I'm a big fan of 80's WWF and an apologist for a lot of it, but those two shows aren't so good. Their success was important though. But I do think WM's 3 through 8 are great.
When he was in Japan, he used to do a drop kick off the top rope. I forget who it was from the states who saw him doing it and told him to never do it again.Have you seen the gif of Show running the ropes? It was everyone's favorite grandpa who says nigger a lot, Hulk Hogan. When he was in Japan, he used to do a drop kick off the top rope. I forget who it was from the states who saw him doing it and told him to never do it again.
The argument being that it took away from him being this imposing big man and it also was something he couldn't do long term without risk of injury.
I've always been impressed by him just on the fact his cardio was always really good for a guy that big.
As a kid I loved Hulk winning the belt in 10 seconds because I still preferred him to Bret.Call me crazy, but I don't think WM 9 is as bad as it's made out to be. Well the painting is he would have crippled himself to khali tier mobility wau too fast of he went that routeHave you seen the gif of Show running the ropes? When Alexander the Great of Macedon was 33 he cried salt tears because he had no more worlds left to conquer. Chris Charlton is 41 and is very close to experiencing that blissful sadness that will send his career crashing down to earth and snuff out his career. Will he be left johnny jobless as a sexpat in Japan? Is this moment his Final Fantasy?
It was probably Dave himself. It's a fact that they talk privately, probably a lot, and that's something Dave would send off to Tony immediately. In my opinion that rat Rocky Romero probably ran and told Tony Khan
You're probably right, my hatred of Rocky Romero probably just clouded my thinking process. For those who don't know, despite not accomplishing anything or being pushed for over 15 years, Romero weasled his way into being the "Western liason" for New Japan and the booker of the horribly booked and sporadic New Japan Strong brand. It was probably Dave himself. indeed, he's now officially Vince levels of fucking petty, and Chris was right anyway, AEW having influence over NJPW is absolute bullshit, even Tiny has to know that deep down
There's stories of him being able to pull off moonsaults while training at the Power Plant. When he was in Japan, he used to do a drop kick off the top rope. I forget who it was from the states who saw him doing it and told him to never do it again.
