I have vivid memories of Raven being my favorite wrestler for a little while as a kid, but nobody else my age knew who that was since the only way to watch ECW was VHS tapes... which is weird since, after looking it up, he was in WCW first. Somehow they didn't know who I was talking about.

Funny thing is that some of it has been confirmed true, some of it false, and most were never confirmed or denied, but so ridiculous that they could be true or false.
Raven was a nudist with a huge hog was true, while Roddy Piper having a manservant that he called "cocksucker" was false (it was ring crew boys that the wrestlers would talk to like that, which in hindsight is fucked up given what was happening to them)

I had never seen a single ECW match until the mid 00s, but I was damned sure Sandman was the greatest wrestler ever because of all the pics Heyman would send into dirt sheets of Sandman entering an arena surrounded by fans losing their mind and grabbing at him, beer streaming down his face, and a kendo stick in hand.
Man I miss dirt sheets pre-internet. It was a wild world where you would just get peaks at things happening all over the world along with these long elaborate explanations (that were all bullshit) and you had no other choice but to believe them since that was the only source you had.
Evidentially it wasn't just me here in America. Heyman sent press kits loaded with glossy photos and translated descriptions of each show to every wrestling magazine around the world. I was watching Bahu's history of FMW and he was describing how ShuPro and Weekly Gong would print up these articles on ECW full of blood and hyperbolic descriptions which got the Japanese smarks so hyped for ECW that the promotion almost won some readers award despite the already tiny tape trading population being almost non-existent in Japan.
Paul E is, was, and always will be a carny par excellence. The guy had such a talent for self promotion it is unreal. The day he dies is genuinely going to be a bad one for /ourgay/ sport.
Jushin Thunder Liger being a shoot cuckold and asking gaijin to fuck his wife is evidentially true too. Liger is a weird one to be honest. Lived at the dojo for years after being a young lion and even after getting married.
Also I am pretty sure the Negro Casas raping young boys thing turned out to be true.

Eh, I don't know. To me, the best type of selling for the mist is as though someone threw boiling water into your face. To this day, I don't there's ever been a better sell than Nidia getting the black mist from Tajiri.

It would be fun to go through some of the list and dig up which is true and which isn't. I'd assume most aren't but with pro wrestlers, who the hell knows. It'd also be hard to verify since they're such carny liars

It comes and goes. Just so happens the election is in a couple weeks and it's all pretty topical.
I'm on team "Hogan is #1 and Steve is #2". Feeling it's a little blasphemous Flair is nowhere to be found, but most of his best stuff was with WWE's competition and this is my cope. Taker should be higher than Reigns, Triple H should be lower too (if we're talking strictly as wrestlers). I'd personally rank Trish Stratus over Becky Lynch any day of the week too. I know WWE tried to make the honeys main characters for a couple years, but there's a reason that phase is gone with the wind now.
I feel that Triple H is way too high and Angle is way too low. Swapping their spots wouldn't be the cure, but it would be an improvement. This list? I rate it a 7/10.
