not even Big Dimes Sheldon can save them now
apparently Blue Panther has gotten special permission from the Lucha Commission to wear his mask for his match with Danielson tomorrow
how big of a faux pas is putting your mask back on in Lucha? I hear unmasking is a big deal but I also hear that plenty of guys just put the mask back on anyway like Rey did after WCW flushed the merch machine that is Rey Mysterio masks down the toilet

it depends how you do it
if it's something like "we're honoring some big anniversary" or some other stuff like some Legends and Icons type shows it's not rare for a guy to get special permission to work the match in the mask, but usually they take it back off as soon as the match is over
in this case Danielson iirc has listed wrestling Blue Panther in Arena Mexico as one of his lifelong dreams, so the idea of a dream match like this (and a top list talent like Danielson working Arena Mexico) is a reason to give permission
there's also a rule iirc that after 5(?) years you can remask as a new gimmick, and in RM Jr's case they stretched it because he's worth a shitload more to Mexico in a mask than his fugly mug
a recent case that got a bit of side-eye was Dr Wagner Jr saying he's going to use that rule to remask, usually it's meant more to be if you're some nobody gimmick starting out you can lose a mask, work without, then when you're hitting your stride in your early twenties after a decade in the business you relaunch as your new gimmick with the new mask

I recall occasionally somebody at Arena Mexico an old guy coming out with his mask on and not removing it after the intro, then Fantasma waddling out to argue with him grinding the show to a halt.

I was watching Christian Cage's greatest hits and nearly jumped out of my chair when I saw this.
AEW Cryptid
Is it someone wearing a mask or is it an actual demon from hell?

I wish I sent the the full Lord White promo before I posed.

>Lord White attempts to explain the history of wrestling to Ugandans. Calls them retarded.
>Ugandans boo
>LW calls Ugandans an invented ethnic tribe made up by the British.
>LW claims that during the Uganda Independence treaty, Britian left a clause that allows white people the right to control wrestling.
>King Charles sent LW to take back wrestling in the name of Britian
>Ugandans start screaming "no"
>LW starts singing the UK national anthem
>Ugandans react by singing their natioal anthem.
>LW calls the Ugandans dirty for not having their own wrestling ring
>One Ugandan distacts LW while the other gives LW a RKO
>While LW is down, the Ugandan that distracted him gives him a Seth Rollins Curb Stomp
>LW flashes gang signs and runs away.

The amount of lore and story telling this Ugandan backyard federation has is actually impressive.

2023 gave us these episodes of Dark Side Of The Ring

And the timing couldn't be worse
Tammy Sytch got sentenced for the deadly DUI crash

And why was Hannibal on that Abdullah episdoe?

And I know we're at 2023, but at 2022, this announcement, the important AEW one:
At 2:08 where he says Shane's not here, there were rumors that Shane might come over to AEW at the time. I recall some forums speculating it would be Shane McMahon since he had troubles with WWE at the same time after the Rumble. Even had this specualtion:
If they brought him in he’ll most likely be an authority figure and will probably reference his purchase of WCW 20 years prior.
Maybe he would also form an Alliance faction featuring DDP, Big Show, Sting, Mark Henry, Arn Anderson and maybe sign other surviving former Alliance members like Buff, Palumbo, Stasiak, Hurricane, Steven Richards, Chavo, etc.

And it will be AEW vs The Alliance.

Losing Terry Funk and Bray Wyatt in the same week was rough.

And Iron Sheik's passing was another major loss in 2023.

TNA have put a full compilation of the Paparazzi Productions segments on their You Tube channel. Finding these segments on You Tube was a ballache as you had to deal with low quality videos with sound issues or missing videos entirely. So this is one of the most based things TNA has done.

Paparazzi Productions was so kino

I watch the modern women wrestlers and no matter what I keep coming back to the idea that Gail Kim or Trish Stratuss would stretch the shit out of these self mark feminist fitness models in a shoot. At least some of them are hot. On NXT at least. If you can't give me credible women fighters give me big titty bimbos at least. I'm going for a piss either way.

Jay Briscoe was killed by a drunk driver in 2023.

Also, the passing of Superstar Billy Graham. Interesting that the bookends of Bob Backlund's first title reign died within a month of each other, as well as Antonio Inoki, who unofficially beat Backlund for the title, died several months earlier.
It's crazy how good Backlund looks for his age probably helps he's chemical free like Dan severn who also had ridiculous longevity
