Despite Rock/Roman being a thing for awhile, I do suspect that it was a Vince thing, and Tribble Haitch, may not have wanted to bother. There is a good chance that this was clumsily shoehorned in as a reaction/distraction to the McMahon bullshit, but not by HHH but TKO execs/Dwayne Johnson. That is the autonomy WWE gave up by partnering with another company. WWE (whomever is in charge of the booking there now and in the future) can be overridden by the suits.

@CyrusHowler - Yes, Cody is very popular with the WWE fanbase, that doesn't change my opinion that he is very, very bland, not to mention that Cody has certainly picked up a few carny, self-mark booking pointers from his dad, the king of self-marks, Dusty Rhodes. Seeing Codester potentially out carnied by Dwayne Johnson gets a huge lol from me. But, if this all plays out like it seems to be going ATM, this might destroy all the goodwill and momentum HHH's booking has garnered up to this point. And that would be the funniest outcome of all, for me. We'll see.
 
HHH being a good booker is a retarded take. Motherfucker killed yellow and black NXT so bad that Vince fucking fired him. Dude only talent is sucking the right dick at the correct time
 
Honestly just make Roman work double duty since the guy works like 5 times a year to begin with anyways. Beats Dwayne main event night 1 and Cody beats him second night. Don’t really care about Seth’s belt at all because it doesn’t mean shit.
 
Pretty hyped for the NXT PLE tonight. It's the most entertaining show with consistent storylines and hot female wrestlers.

I'm not worried about Rock vs Roman at Mania because that's gonna be a huge match anyways, but I still think it's a work by Rock, Cody, and the WWE. It just seems way too convenient that the social media buzz surrounding Cody getting fucked over wasn't somehow artificially manufactured. Logan supporting Cody on twitter only solidifies my suspicions. Even if Cody wins the belt the marks aren't going to accept they were duped, they will claim it was the fan outrage that changed the outcome.
 
As someone who doesn’t really watch wrasslin anymore I don’t get the Rock push. He isn’t even over in normal media Black Adam bombed he is over saturated. Maybe I need more of his ZOA energy drinks.

You know I find it really ironic that you call Cody bland yet you’re one of like 5 completely interchangeable people in this thread that had this same “me no care what happens, me only hee hee ha ha” gimmick. Oh wow, you’re so unique because you think bonehead shit like this is funny.
 
So, now that the hilarity of how fucking retarded this decision is is wearing off, yeah I’m doubting WWE backs down on this - if anything, they’re likely to double, if not triple down, and I’m more than willing to blame Dwayne’s Ego.

Add in the apparent rumours that they want to unify the titles - y’know, the thing that got us into this mess in the first fucking place - at Summerslam, I can see them having Cody “Finally Finish the Goddamn Story” there. Granted if they do, I’d hope to God he immediately drops one of the titles the next night, because again, that’s what got us into this fucking mess in the first place…

Yeah the me of years ago wouldn’t’ve believed you if you told me TNA would be the most stable of the American Wrestling Companies, but beyond D’more being a Tranny Chaser here we are…

Cody now is more over than he’s ever been and from what I’m seeing, more over than 2014 Bryan. After all of this if Rock continues what he’s doing then he’s willingly throwing his good will in the only place he had it left, off a dam.

It would make sense for him deactivate both the Universal Championship (because no one will break Roman's three-year-long reign) the World Heavyweight Championship (since it's basically the Seth Rollins Belt) and the WWE Championship go back to being called the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

I’m only rating you Optimistic because there’s an argument to be made that back in 2014, Bryan might’ve had Trips in his corner going to bat with Vince - say what we will about the guys booking, he had a nose for what was Best for Business.

Compared to now, where there’s talk that Rocky is trying to take Trips spot as far as booking, and is doing the most self mark thing possible and booking himself to Main Event a Wrestlemania? I’m hoping to be proven wrong, but I expect the worst by default at this point.
