My brother and I were pissed about the baseball shit since neither of us have FS1 on our cable packages so we ended up going out to the bar last night. His wife has to pick him up from jail on Monday, I had to have a talk with the sheriff for completely different reasons.

Catching up on Smack right now and it is crazy how much the WWE audience loves Eli Drake and I am all here for it. An old and busted indie guy got another chance at the big show and is forcing the WWE to book him as a main event talent just by being more charismatic and organically over than their hand picked talents. This is all I ever wanted out of the WWE and the big reason I spent most of the 2010s hating them. A guy that gets over on his own should have a shot at the main event. If he sinks, let him sink, but if he can swim well then just let the dude go as far as he can. Vince hated smarks so much that he couldn't even tell the difference between them and normal fans and ended up booking to spite normal people. I may not personally like HHH as a person, but I respect the game for not hating his audience like his father in law does.

Also wild to think that the first half hour of last nights Smack all feature former NWA talent. LA Knight in the opener and Nick Aldis in the first women's segment.

Knight is one of Hunter's pets, if you take the stance that NXT is Hunter basically adopting a bunch of orphans to change his public image for the better after being caught poisoning the local well with toxic chemicals and getting off at trial by whacking the prosecution's star witnesses and to everyone's shock and horror, Hunter's treating his orphan charges well.

The funny thing though is that Roman is a proxy for the longrunning Hunter/Rock feud given that Roman's been dangling the carrot of Rock returning to keep his position of power and the world title and bury everyone else. If Hunter had any real balls, he'd have Knight be the one to slay Roman purely to end this farce Roman's perpetuated to keep his spot and worse, do it in a way that fully buries Roman. IE Knight one shot punches Roman out and Solo/Heyman neutralized by the Way (who need to be one Smackdown since Raw is way too crowded and where Gargano and Lumis could have a chance to shine).

Knight as champion opens a whole lot of doors in terms of new storylines and can let them course correct some things like Sami/Roman reuniting as a heel duo, Solo vs Knight, Grayson Waller vs Knight, Dominik Mysterio vs Knight, Cody vs Knight, Miz vs Knight....

I was going to ask, is there an interest in maybe trying to do an e-fed sort of deal? What games would you guys suggest for it?
 
The MJF vs Omega match was pretty good, one his best and probably better than his Danielson match however the rest of Collision felt like it was just there. The House of Black really needs to make an ally or bring in a few new members as the whole idea is that everyone is upset with them is getting stale. Sami Callihan is in talks to work with AEW in either as a wresttler or backstage producer as he knows more about running a successful wrestling fed than Tony, he'd be a good fit for them. They could also bring in Mads Krugger (Krule now) as they need a proper monster that wont fuck off to Japan to get buried. One of the few wrestlers with a horror gimmick that still has a presence in the ring today.

Danielson broke his orbital bone on Wednesday and will be out for the remaining year as he's going to have surgery. Is that his plan for his remaining year in wrestling? Just be injured for the rest of it?

Oh god....Rhonda will be in Revolver. We are getting closer to see her in AEW. Fuck me.

On other sad news, MLW denied Hammerstones Release and PCO re-signed with TNA.

Then you get absolutely delusional takes like this one. Usually this guy knows what he’s talking about when it comes to wrestling and is one of the few that actually states TK is a bad Booker.

Brandi might be a nice lady in real life, but good lord was she a comedic train wreck in the business. I’ll never forget her confrontation with Jade when she asked her who told her it was open mic night, or when she called herself a black bitch. She’s an absolute legend in my eyes.

Also, I’ve got Dark Side on in the background while I work, and I’m still disappointed with how much a dud the Marty episode was vs how much it was hyped up by production and fans. Largely just stories he’d already told and nothing particularly interesting or disturbing (Because I don’t believe he killed that guy.) besides his ugly girlfriend saying they hooked up when she was still in school, and even that went ignored by everyone because it’s Marty and we expect him to do shit like that.

Why was an episode about such a notorious disaster so fucking dull? It’s nice that Shawn reached out though, seems like Marty needed that closure.

Dark Side of the Ring is just dog water. Unless they have someone spoonfeeding them shit they have nothing. I am an FMW mark and the entire episode I kept waiting for them to get into the meat and potatoes of the promotion's scandals and they didn't do shit. Of course if your primary source for tea on FMW is Onita then he is going to not talk about the actual fucked up shit and use it as an excuse to place the blame for FMW's failure on that fuckup Aria. Onita is a carney, one of the carniest carnies in the history of wrestling. A man that carnied King Carney Vince so hard that I don't even think Vince knows that he was carnied to this day.

I know I shouldn't expect anything out of Vice, but I was still disappointed.

I think their mistake is having the people involved in the incidents on, of course when they agree to show up they’re going to defend themselves. Marty’s episode was just him and his friends largely making excuses and blaming everyone else for Marty’s problems, then they switch up towards the end and acknowledge he did it to himself.

I don’t know, I feel like people in the industry are too close to the show, and for the most part carnies are going to cover for each other beef or not. In any episode I’m way more interested in what people not emotionally invested in the topic have to say because they’re the ones who are going to be the most truthful.

For the FMW episode they used Shitsinpants and Bahu for their consultants. Shitsinpants literally has never watched FMW in his life and has no idea what is going on. Bahu is pretty much THE English language historian for FMW, but is also such a massive fucking fanboy that he is going to carry water for the promotion and do everything he can to excuse and explain away the fucked up shit that went on in the background.
 
I liked the Graham family episode but DSotR blew all its big stories in the first couple seasons and blew a lot of sources by cancelling Flair and trying to put AEW over.
It's only still a thing because it's made on a shoestring budget for a network funded by being in cable bundles.

Okada has had three matches in AEW where three times he's badly injured an opponent. He's obviously got a serious problem with not winning, or generally being booked overseas (whatever the payday).
I understand the whole "Japan is stiff" culture but this isn't a coincidence.

I wonder how vindicated she must have felt watching Cody rise through the floor to one of the biggest pops in history in front of 80k people knowing that they were getting booed by ~3k people when they were in Small Elite Wrestling.

Honestly with the same “Rein it in.” I assume they gave Cody in WWE, I wouldn’t have minded seeing if Brandy being that odd in AEW was just an isolated incident, because she was the shits wrestling in Impact but she seemed nice and genuinely eager to be in the ring, and I don’t remember her being annoying when she was Eden in WWE. I don’t know, I have a small soft spot for her.

The thumbnails are exactly the same style and font, and Marky doesn't even hide his accent and cadence. It's definitely him.

I used to like Marky because I too have a soft spot for the nuclear cockroach of wrestling promotions, but he's a tranny supporter and a bit of fag himself posting videos of himself crying and about how life's been oh-so-hard for the Hawk, like everyone else just has easy lives with no hardship or mental struggle.
So now I have nothing but a mix of pity and disdain for the Crumpet.
That all said; it's not surprising wrestling YTers are like this; they're all left-leaning nerds who actively gatekeep from dissenting opinions. Just because Marky isn't fat doesn't mean he isn't riddled with soy.
