The Bucks are playing douchey heels again at the moment.
It never ceases to amaze me how easily people get worked by them.

Would be nice if they can do this in the ring. Instead they just come off as cocky babyfacesThe Bucks are playing douchey heels again at the moment.

Only issue with that is that Vince doesn't want anymore people from the indies. He wants to make stars himself and not have pre-establish people.I don't see an issue with that, there's never been as much wrestling talent hanging about and accepting medocrity instead of people with the drive and willingness to improve seems like a waste of time and effort. This doesn't stop wrestlers from never making it to WWE if they've fucked up once, but it means that they have to actually go out and graft a name for themselves on the indies and elsewhere to show they've got enough to have a second chance.
It really is insane how the PC can shit out like 15 people a year that could comfortably slot into the lowercard on Smackdown without breaking a sweat.
It's weird, because I don't think they've ever had a certifiable megastar who didn't wrestle somewhere else first besides The Rock. Maybe I guess Lesnar, but it's debatable if he would have blown up if he didn't go to UFC. Even Cena spent a couple years in the indies first. Like, where does this idea that guys shouldn't have wrestled anywhere else first even come from? All their biggest stars over the years, Hogan, Austin, Cena, Warrior, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, The Undertaker, Triple H etc etc etc all wrestled somewhere else before they went to the WWF.Only issue with that is that Vince doesn't want anymore people from the indies. AJ Styles, Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, CM Punk, Finn Balor, Drew McIntyre, Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, Daniel Bryan etc. in recent times disproves that. Hell even Austin Theory is right there and despite his slight name change, he's still getting pushed to the moon despite being an indie guy because he's surprisingly well rounded AND young.Only issue with that is that Vince doesn't want anymore people from the indies. In fairness, I believe Vince “not wanting Indie Talent” is a more recent decision - recent being relative, pretty sure that was when NXT became 2.0, and moved from being “WWE Branded Indie Supershow” back towards actually being Developmental.AJ Styles, Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, CM Punk, Finn Balor, Drew McIntyre, Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, Daniel Bryan etc. in recent times disproves that. If they're good enough, they get there. What people fail to grasp is that a FUCKTON of indie shitters simply aren't complete enough to be a big star in the WWE. You see guys like Amazing Red or Christopher Daniels or Low Ki or Chuck Taylor or Austin Aries or Angelico or Brian Cage etc. (I could go on forever) that simply are too one dimensional with gaping flaws that prevent them from being worth being pushed to the moon. Maybe they're shit on the mic, maybe they're toxic as fuck backstage and not talented enough to get away with it, maybe they are dangerous etc. Why spend half a decade trying to iron out those flaws when you can grab a fresh guy from the PC that's good enough?
Austin Theory shows that they're not going to stop signing indie guys, but the real issue is that with AEW existing + covid fucking indie wrestling, the once well populated indies are pretty much dried up and if you recruit people from an athletic background you can make a pro wrestler fairly easily with minimal training. Is it shitty to train people up and then cut them if they don't improve? I guess, but think of how many people in other sports get cut in more brutal fashion. Be glad WWE is only recruiting 18+ year olds unlike soccer/football squads who will sign 14 year olds only to throw them to one side when they're 16 and aren't good enough.
Vince just wants more merchandise control. It's weird, because I don't think they've ever had a certifiable megastar who didn't wrestle somewhere else first besides The Rock. Before someone says Reigns, Reigns is a popcorn fart compared to the guys on that list and they had to push him for nearly a decade before he got over.
As I said "anymore" It helps to read.AJ Styles, Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, CM Punk, Finn Balor, Drew McIntyre, Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, Daniel Bryan etc. in recent times disproves that. Past two months or so. It's been reported on by several sites. Though this should have been obvious given their recent hirings for the Performance Center. In fairness, I believe Vince “not wanting Indie Talent” is a more recent decision - recent being relative, pretty sure that was when NXT became 2.0, and moved from being “WWE Branded Indie Supershow” back towards actually being Developmental.
That said, the PC legitimately seems to be one of the better “Wrestling Schools” out there - quotes because ymmv on if you consider the PC a proper School -, and if I say nothing else good about the style WWE teaches, it’s definitely a easier style on your body than grinding your bones into sawdust on the indies. Might need to add a few more promo classes (or, god forbid, just give people managers), but if thats the worst I can say from the outside looking in, they’re probably fine.
At least the Indies seem to be starting to recover from Covid - gives a lot of the guys who’d shit up NXT somewhere to go.
Wrestling school from my understanding generally lasts 13 weeks. No disrespect to the trainees, but if you haven't even made NXT in a year, you should be cut. If for no other reason than WWE dropped the ball and genuinely has no idea what to do with you, so you should get a chance at a fresh start. With these latest releases, WWE is expecting to start a "probation" period for NXT signees. If they don't show improvement within 90 days of signing, then they're released. I doubt this will affect older signees like Bron or Carmello, and theres no word on if it carries over to main roster.
If you want to split hairs here...AEW hired a 16 year old.Be glad WWE is only recruiting 18+ year olds unlike soccer/football squads who will sign 14 year olds only to throw them to one side when they're 16 and aren't good enough.
Yet Aliyah is still employed.Wrestling school from my understanding generally lasts 13 weeks. No disrespect to the trainees, but if you haven't even made NXT in a year, you should be cut. I'm all for people getting easy paychecks, but the trainees can't be getting that much, and there should be no reason to linger in developmental for 5+ years.
The average salary for an NXT contract is roughly $80k per year. Fuck me running that's a little less than my salary.I'm all for people getting easy paychecks, but the trainees can't be getting that much, and there should be no reason to linger in developmental for 5+ years.

There’s also Brodie Jr - sure, it’s almost certainly a charity move to look after Brodie’s kid, but technically speaking a literal prepubescent child is on payroll. If you want to split hairs here...AEW hired a 16 year old.
Sounds like someone coming up with an excuse to purge NXT.With these latest releases, WWE is expecting to start a "probation" period for NXT signees. If it were to come out that WWE were just waiting on their TV Deal for NXT to expire before they moved it back to the Network/onto Peacock, I wouldn’t be surprised.Kill NXT the TV show, ship what's left to Smackdown, and reduce it back to a network only show where there are no storylines, just short matches.
You could have said that before they turned into the stereotypical West Coast bugs outside their gimmick. The Bucks are playing douchey heels again at the moment.
It never ceases to amaze me how easily people get worked by them.
For what it's worth (and it ain't much) Ciampa is on Raw and probably either got the "Theory's mercenary" gimmick you mentioned or someone let him have the Sicillian Psycho aspect back, since he attacked Mustafa Ali for no apparent reason last Monday. We'll see if they explain tonight.... and Gargano and Ciampa are both gone.
