To people even watch the full matches? Im not saying the product is great. But its very obvious what the score was in the end. Roman survived the battle but didnt win the war. 3/4 Tonga death grips and each one roman was visibly panicked and desperate to escape. Resorting to cheating in the end to do so. At one point grabbing the ref as if he was looking to him as savior in the moment. The finish keeps the belt on roman and it makes Jacob look scary to roman specifically. Im not saying its great but its solid enough if your plan is to have roman lose the belt to the same move later on.
Idk I get people not liking roman winning but the story itself is solid. The finish makes sense. More sense than a 120lb dude retaining his world title a minute after he was thrown 20ft down through some tables by a geared up to the gills jobber.

Making Roman win alone doesn’t make Jacob look intimidating, it makes him look harmless.
WWE already forgot that the reason (kayfabe) that Roman never brought Jacob onboard wasn’t that “he wasn’t ready”, but that he was so dangerous and lethal that Roman refused out of fear, as Solo would repeatedly mention when he brought him and the Tongas (who were also initially described as ruthless thugs that Roman could never control) onboard to his Neo-Bloodline years ago.
Considering this, it would’ve made more sense for Roman to win (I get it, he’s not going to lose outside of a SummerSlam/Wrestlemania and vs a big “star”) due to interference from his cousins, or perhaps interference from Solo (who weeks ago told Roman he could never beat Jacob without Solo’s help). Losing to multiple guys ganging up on you vs losing to one guy being crafty is a world of difference in keeping your heat.
It’s what makes his post-match attack seem like a tantrum thats too little too late vs an unhinged machine that Roman cannot currently beat without all the help he can get.
I’m not going to settle for a shit product and say “it’s good enough”. It wasn’t. No one is going to remember this match in a few weeks.
