Can we talk about Sumo here? It's literally pro wrestling. It's good if you have a short attention span and like watching deceptively strong fat guys smack one another.
I think XWT sometimes post sumo, like incredibly rarely but it’s been on there. Outside of that I would have no idea where to even begin to watch and genuinely follow Sumo. Do Sumo fans like Sumo these days or is it thing 6483937 that “was better in the past”

Hakuho Sho is a still relatively young, so I guess that's an argument for the quality of modern Sumo. I'm speaking purely ad a tourist, of course. I know maybe, like fivd Sumo wrestlers off the top of my head, but I do know that Hakuho is to sumo what Wayne Gretzky is to Hockey.

I know nearly nothing about sumo but it's pretty beginner friendly. The great thing about it being a scared sport is that its gatekept super hard, so no need to fear it being modded for the "modern audience". NHK's youtube account posts the most recent tournaments and there's different podcasts and websites that cover the rules and all that. The cool thing is a lot of sumo wrestlers are wrestling fans but the gap is rarely bridged for whatever reason (John Tenta is a notable example of a sumo going into pro wrestling and Akebono wrestled Big Show).

Don't forget Meng and Barbarian. They were sent by the king of Tonga to Japan to study sumo and took to it pretty well. If their stable master hadn't died a year into it, who knows how far they would've gone.

I swear Eddie Kingston used to be better. Not amazing, but passable. Now he looks and wrestles like he should be at your local shitty indie fed holding shows at the flea market in front of 8 people. He had a good match with Gabe Kidd at a NJPW Strong taping back during the pandemic, and Gabe was still pretty green at that point. But then when he was in a G1 Climax tourney a few years later he had regressed and was just copying moves from the AJPW pillars to zero crowd reaction.
Eddie was never a good wrestler ,dude got over by his charisma , that carries him hard.

Only thing that can stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy doing unprotected chair shots to the head

Rikidozan was a sumo.

Kylie Rae seemed to be finally getting some sort of a chance in the industry despite being mental because WWE put their Womens ID Championship on her.

She has of course just announced she's pregnant because mental cases will never miss an opportunity to self-sabotage their lives.
When do the big companies finally stop giving her chances? She sperged out and pulled a "muh mental health" on the night TNA was going to crown her Knockouts Champ and make her the centerpiece of their division. She sperged out at Jericho hitting on her in AEW when she was going to be the top star of their division. She got pregnant as soon as she got a bunch of bookings out of the support she got from leaving AEW and cancelled basically all of them. Now she immediately gets pregnant when WWE makes her the centerpiece of their new ID women's division.

I just have to ask, I've never seen anything in-ring wise beyond mid or decent from her. She has no character other than generic bubbly smiley face, she's not really attractive, doesn't have that much charisma. Why in God's green earth has this BPD bitch gotten so many chances when most are soft blacklisted from the industry for looking the wrong way at someone? I'm completely baffled, she's almost at Jeff Hardy amounts of second chances, while never drawing the money he did.

Maybe she can suck the chrome off a trailer hitch?

I don't get it either. I used to be involved in the Chicago indie scene and saw her a few times when she started but was already gone by the time she was getting signed other places and noticed. I don't remember her being particularly good in the ring, she's just a knock-off Bayley that looks twice her age and apparently is crazier than a squirrel in an outhouse. I didn't even know she was still around after her 3rd or 4th breakdown when she left TNA and was going back to the indies after having a match with her indie shitter boyfriend, but then cancelled all of them over muh mental health excuse #126, but I guess that was also a pregnancy? I just figured she went away after other Chicago girls like Skye Blue and Cora took her place. Also as a side note wasn't there a rumor about her being the one Karl Anderson cheated on his "hot Asian wife" with around the same time she left? Or maybe she was with TNA a 2nd time because I'm pretty sure it was after she was in AEW and the whole Jericho rumor which was why it was odd she's in another story about fucking a veteran in the locker room.

I know it probably doesn't look good to blacklist a girl who is rumored to have left a major company over sexual assault, kind of like when WWE couldn't fire Paige after her sex tape leaks and all the shit with Del Rio until they didn't have a choice, but you would think there'd be more than enough other reasons for them to pass on her. Not only is she about 5 or 6 years past her peak, there has to be hundreds of other girls younger, better, and less batshit crazy that they can push for their ID program.
Maybe she can suck the chrome off a trailer hitch?
I guess this has some merit to it after all, because I have no fucking clue how she blew up in the first place, let alone is still getting opportunities in the current year after all her bullshit.

To be fair, if I were her and was told there was a party going on and I got to the room and it's just a naked, bloated, drunken Chris Jericho I'd be having mental issues, too. I don't blame her for booking it out of there after that shit.

The rest of it, though, yeah, that's on her. But her AEW stuff I can't blame her for.

I saw some of a tournament on NHK once, seems like fun to watch with friends who know who these guys are
They were sent by the king of Tonga to Japan to study sumo
I'm glad there's enough wonder left in the world for things like this

Bro holy shit, AJ Lee is fucking TERRIBLE and Reddit is gaslighting itself into thinking she was great. Match lost all heat like halfway through when AJ got the hot tag and started blowing spots.
