a LOT of the problems AEW has in-ring are just extensions of the same endemic problems of the USA scene, guys take turns doing moves at each other in the correct order instead of working a match together, they try to do lucha shit without taking rolling bumps in 3-on-3 loose tag matches, the usual "I can bleed even more" shit
That's what happens when you don't have a real vision for your product and just want to emulate your favorite wrestling companies. Tony Khan has the mentality of a child, in the sense that his idea for the perfect wrestling show is to just emulate all of his favorite wrestling shows with no concern as to how well they mesh together.

"Dude, my show is gonna be sooo awesome. It's gonna be, like, ROH, NOAH, CZW, CHIKARA, ECW, WCW, Midsouth Wrestling, and SMW, all put together! Ooh, and CMLL and AAA! A-And, Joshi wrestling, with intergender matches!"

The IWC has a lot of people who hate Jet Uso, to the point that I feel it’s A-Logging. I just see tons of posts of people calling him a shit wrestler and hoping Gunther somehow retains at WM, which everyone obviously knows isn’t happening.

I just don’t get why, I haven’t paid much enough attention to Uso to evaluate him as a wrestler but I saw him with McIntyre on the first Netflix Raw and I thought that was a good match. Is there some infamous match where he looked like shit? He seems like a serviceable wrestler and the crowds like the Yeet gimmick so I don’t understand the hate.

Is it just fans hating Babyfaces?

I think it's two parts "the IWC is sick of anyone remotely related to this fucking family always being a world champion", one part "he's just an entrance! No Workrate so BAD!" type shit.

Jey's moved a metric fuckton of merch, is genuinely over with the crowd, and can put on a serviceable WWE style match. I can't immediately think of anything that'd hold him back if he became champ, but at the same time I'd hope it's not an extended reign. He's miles above the worst person to ever be a WWE Champion - looking at YOU, Jinder - but at the same time I kinda get the whole "stop pushing the Rock's relatives as World Champions" bit after the Bloodline and Roman's forever reign where he'd just fuck off for months at a time.

If modern social media was around in 98-99 the IWC would have been bitching and moaning about Austin and Rock too. Well, it would have been more widespread because smarks on message boards were doing that back then.

I don't think it's so much about Jey's wrestling ability as their feelings about his extravgent entrance, plus fatigue from years of Coconut Community Theater main events.

Granted I don't even know if I want Gunther to retain. Compared to his NXT UK and Intercontinental reigns, this current run has felt flat.

His match against his brother at last WM was terrible. It was just super kicks for 20 minutes. Outside of that I can't think of a really bad match.

The crowd at MSG for this week’s Raw was odd.

They were excited about yeeting, but so is every crowd.
Every little boy and zoomer wants to yeet with their dads.

They gave Logan Paul astronomical heat, the most I’ve heard since Hogan in LA.
Not sure if it was genuine heat or go away heat, that much probably a mixture of both.

Next to no reaction for Rey Mysterio which I know he’s getting old and was wrestling tag under LWO, but no pop when his music hit.

Underwhelming pop and general reaction for Cody, which is wild since his eye looks fucked and they’re still hot on the storyline from Elimination Chamber.

Do these people care about anything besides booing and yeeting?
Guess my expectations were higher for NY AND MSG in general.
Why are you expecting a WWE crowd to care about wrestling?

Man, we currently have a lot of coconut niggers (Roman, Usos, Jacob, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, potentially Hikuleo and Lance A'noai, maybe Zilla Fatu down the road) running around. I suppose it could have been worse. We could have had a 4 man Usos faction:

Coconut niggers sure can multiply. Cody Rhodes is never going to be free from the Samoans.

Gunther has defended the title with barely any challengers, because most of the guys that would be GOOD challengers (CM Punk, Drew, Rollins) are too busy circle jerking each other.

Randy Orton
Sami Zayn
Damian Priest - rematch
Damian Priest -second rematch, triple threat with Finn Balor
Jey Uso

That's it. That's Gunther's WHC run so far.

holy shit Speedball Mike Bailey looks like the Level 55 version of what he was last time I saw him in AAA

this, hes just average singles-wise that match was the only notably bad match from memory, I completely understand why WWE is pushing him with all the YEET merch and shit, hes probably second to Cody as far as being the most over with the under 18 demos, Smarks seething about him winning the rumble are honestly dumb

I generally agree with this, im not a guy who feels a champ need to defend every single PPV but at the same time they really haven't been doing a lot to make the WHC seem like a big deal recently, hopefully if Uso wins at Mania they can start having more varied challengers,

I dont know why they didnt let him defend the belt against oldheads such as Styles or Nakamura or Mysterio or start building up Brekker or Gable as challengers
The WWE kind of needs two world champs just because of how shows they have

Tony Khan booking this:

Jesus. I can't stop thinking about this. Spiral tap > triangle choke > rings of saturn and it was done so smoothly.

7 min if it doesn't load

If they had actually built up to jey winning the rumble it would of been one thing, but he lost in a nothing match against gunther a week before. The only thing i can imagine is that Cena was supposed to win the rumble and they changed it last minute for the rock soul deal. And if having a crowd chant be over is enough then shawn spears/tye dillinger should of been world champion when he hit the main roster.

Meh, Jey Uso is the modern day DDP. Every smark back in the day said he was just over because of his finisher, just like everyone says online Jey is over because of his catchphrase.

I guarantee you, just like DDP, people will remember Jey Uso for a long time. Hell, they might even do his yeet chant like they used to do the what chant. Which would suck, I'm not a big fan of Jey. But to deny he's over is stupid at this point.
