There definitely is legitimate concern about the estrogen content in drinking water, but it's a bit of a 'dark matter' issue - when I last read about the topic, people still don't know the source(s) for the majority of estrogen in drinking water. But it's conclusive that oral contraceptive synthetic estrogen can be ruled out as the cause. It's filtered out.

I have many thots on this, but maybe it's best to start with this one: I believe that if you want to know the true intent of an ideology (which is what I believe transgenderism to be), the context of the places the community lives in is a critical piece of information. Transgenderism lives primarily on the internet and it is only of the most virulent memetic ideologies in world history, because it aggressively targets the vulnerabilities of the young, the emotionally fragile, and weak-minded dudes. It's completely insular, unmatched in creating and maintaining echo-chambers, it displays and depends almost exclusively on all identifiable aspects of a cult, it is openly and proudly predatory, and - most interestingly - it is maintained and perpetuated primarily by straight white men. Of course, there is no such thing as a "trans lesbian", that's just gay fuckin' (or straight fuckin' in the rare case) with a lie attached. To me, this last fact is why the transgender ideology has such staying power. If it was driven by FTMs, for example, nobody outside of tumblr would have ever given a shit, and this thing would have dropped off the earth before it ever even had its own flag. But something about white dudes, they can actually make things happen. You can choose your reason(s) for why this is the case. My FAB friend got approved for Testosterone and will start it shortly. They wish to be more "genderless" and aren't looking forward to the hairyness or a few other undesirable effects of T and do want a deeper voice. They refer to it as "boy juice."

I'm going to miss my friend as she was. I'm gonna miss her voice and her boyish looks, and I already miss her being more chill on social justice issues. My friend's always been a bit further left and a bit more sensitive than me, but social distancing and hanging in online social circles notable for having more trans people probably pushed them closer and closer to this. They already have a few medical conditions that might interact with T negatively and have had weird reactions to non testosterone steroids in the past, so I worry about their health too. I'm not sure that in a few years they'll stop being trans or not, and I'm depressed they're going to hurt themself if that's the case.

I don't have much commentary on transness right now besides that. I just needed a place to vent and reminisce about my old friend. I've always been tight with them even after they decided to be agender, and I'm just sad even though I know it's what they want.

What you are observing is the onset of two distinct things, both start in adolescence, both can cause a person to erroneously believe they should have the body of the opposite sex, they can occur alone or be comorbid. One is serious mental illness, such as personality disorders or schizophrenia, the other is a paraphilic disorder, Autogynephilia.
