So, like, were doing "milsim" and still carrying 60# worth of shit when our "ammo" is basically waitless and we also have no mission equipment/demo/crew served ammo? I don't see any way to purify water other than boiling it and that's maybe half the amount of food you'd want.

The smart water bottles are popular with ultra light backpacker types because they weigh less than a nalgene and are almost as tough. Most of that shit seems like a packing list for doing the Appalachian trail as opposed to a military "travel light, freeze at night" mindset, but even then I'm mystified by the amount of sleep items and clothes. It's the middle of spring, you need a tarp, a pad, a blanket/bag and like an extra light jacket or sweater.

These guys aren't humping all their shit the whole time and aren't typically sleeping in the open. From what I've seen they'll basically set up FOBs in buildings where they keep most of their gear and sleep. It's basically "tactical" glamping with the occasional "firefight".

I went a couple times back in college from 2015-2017 after I left the army and literally every rusfor dude I met was gay, trans, and furry. It's like a collection of every e-waste loser the internet has but outside larping as russians. The milita guys were spergy but pretty chill, on par with your average warhammer dork.
And the troons packing list sucks ass, I did their larpy 64 hour event in 2016 and I literally just had chocolate covered pretzels and steak strips for food, you don't need to cook shit or need that many calories for extending hiking with occasional jogging during airshit shooting. Hell one trailer park looking dude had cans of fucking pork and beans out there, we did sleep on the ground but I had a tarp from the local hardware store for rain cover and the outer bivy as my sleeping bag, outside spare clothes its warm enough this time of year to literally just sleep in the dirt.
