So, I was kind of racketed for my details today in a jewelry store.

I was super late on a gift, and it was close to closing time, so I ended up giving up more details than I wished to.

The girl behind the counter meant well but was obviously retarded. She did not understand why I would not want to share my post code, informations, email, phone number just so I could purchase something for 480 €. "it's company policy, no choice". Although I am sure it's not a legal requirement up to something like 10K, even if you pay cash.

She assured me that it was not for remarketing even after I showed her the fucking website telling me they would send me offers and news, and share with relevant third parties.

I am pretty sure this is illegal, and I'd like for this to be stopped. Where can I report it and make any difference? I am in the EU, not sure if there is any infrastructure at the national or European level?

If it makes any difference, it's an international chain based in Ireland it seems.
