Gawker is like every other news outlet in that they're terribly biased. I will say that you evidence feels a bit "LOOK HOW THEY TREAT TEH WHITE MENS!" but I can understand why you would consider them (or their authors) lolcow worthy. They certainly foster a base for like minded people. I don't see how it's different fro a place like Breitbart or Fox News but whatevs.

Also, on the subject of Gawker being a lolcow or not, I was thinking more along the lines of lulzy authors who write for it (Patricia Hernandez, Ben Kuchera, Leigh Alexander, etc) rather than Gawker itself as a corporation. Sorry, I should have made that more clear!

One man's troll is another's lolcow, I suppose. I've always considered Gawker and its cadre more troll than lolcow, myself, but I suppose the argument could be made either way.
 
I think Gawker Media is definitely a company of lolcows. I think much like Vice they got really mad when they figured out people used AdBlock and compared it to stealing from them. I know Cracked did that too.

Gawker itself isn't a lolcow- if anything, it's a really skeevy company that has enemies damn near everywhere. But the writers? Hoooooooly shit, those people are some of the funniest fuckers you'll find on the internet.
 
Is Deadspin the only good part of Gawker?* Or is just that Jezebel and Gawker per se are driving the reputation of the rest of the blogs down with them?

Didn't several writers leave Jezabel recently? I read because one long time writer was passed over for editor, and a 24 year old was hired as editor.
 
Jezebel's lowest point was an article in which women bragged about beating their boyfriends.
 
I'll occasionally skim through Kotaku articles, but I ignore them as soon as I start to sense they're trying to express an opinion, since most of the staff is retarded. Jezebel is one of the worst pieces of "journalism" on the planet, though. North Korea's state media is more balanced and less hypocritical.

This times one billion. Somehow I don't think people are aware how stupid and hypocritical Gawker and its ilk are. Fortunately the ability to block shares from specific sites seems to finally be working on Fapbook now so I no longer have to expose myself to this bullshit.

That being said, I don't think it's really within the scope of these forums (if there is one) to consider an entire outlet to be a lolcow - unless of course said outlet decides to respond to us directly and repeatedly over a long period of time, or something like that. My two cents.

I personally really like lifehacker and their articles about organization techniques and maximizing efficiency in the workplace/home. (nerd alert)

I used to read Jezebel in 2008 when I was in highschool and really into Bikini Kill. I stopped reading it when I stopped caring about gender politics, but I think Gawker Media in general has been slowly been getting worse and worse since then. Although, even my 16 year old self knew that all the writers were pretentious NYU graduates.
