Does anyone have an idea of how much cash Gawker has to work with and if this judgment would actually be a coup de grace? Not sure how much of Denton and Gawker Media's net worth is cash they can spare.

Apparently they made $44 million this year.

What Hogan needs to do now is buy Gawker and turn it into a website that does daily updates about how awesome being Hulk Hogan is.

Here's the thing, though:

Hulkster got kicked out of the WWE Hall of Fame for one dropping of the N-Bomb, in private, recorded by somebody who thought he was his friend who took video of his wife having sex with other men because he was into that. It's disappointing and disheartening, yes, but that comment never should have been public knowledge. I honestly wish I hadn't known. I expect better of Hulk.

Meanwhile The Warrior would go on homophobic rants in public, multiple times, and was still honored by the WWE the day before his death. Fucking Donald Trump is saying incendiary shit every fucking day on his campaign and is still in the Hall of Fame. He's not even a career wrestler.

It's a pretty vicious double standard and Gawker had a hand in ruining Hulk's legacy in the name of "journalism," when there wasn't even any scandal to begin with. Bubba the Love Sponge and his wife were in an open relationship, he enjoyed watching video of other men fucking his wife. Meanwhile you have Gawker decry The Fappening as shameful because it's happening to women, while submitting Hulk to the same humiliation, laughing at his penis.

It's the hypocrisy that gets me, here. Gawker is sleazy through-and-through, but then they try and posture as progressives when it's convenient and it makes me sick.

Gawker's latest tweet is some disrespectful shit about Ted Cruz being Princess Diana.

However, the reply section to said tweet is fucking glorious.

The most hypocritical thing Gawker has ever done was write tons of articles condemning the celebrity nude photos leak (aka the Fappening), especially on Jezebel... while continuing to ignore Hulk Hogan's pleas to take down his sex tape. So publishing nude photos of female celebrities without their consent is evil, but it's totally okay to publish a male celebrity's sex tape and make fun of him when he tries to get you to take it down.

Winning a case and actually get all the money from the judgement can be two separate things. Like the way Discover isn't going to see a dime coming from Barb after the court verdict.

Apparently they made $44 million this year.

Which means about a $5m profit, if it's believed from the $45m they made the year before. Meaning somehow, in operating costs Gawker is chewing through some $39m every damn year, somehow. (Like seriously. It's a collection of fucking websites. How?)

Even at the $50m they supposedly "have to pay" would wipe them out and kill the company due to the sheer scale of it. Denton flogged off part of his ownership of the company to try and limit the damage and exposure to his own finaces the other year because the courts could come after the owners rather than the company for cash. Gawker will try to appeal on the basis of whatever files they've now released. But way too much of their trust has been blown by this court case, including Denton's belligerent attitude throughout the case and before hand, which could factor heavily with whatever appeal judge they get.

Never mind the fact that The Daily Mail and the Rothmere's are snapping at Gawker's heels with their own defamation lawsuit, and they know just about every nasty law firm in London...

Or to short version it; HULKMANIA IS BACK, BROTHER.
