Descent said:Super Mario RPG. Make the enemies more challenging and have all 5 characters be able to fight at once instead of picking just 3.

That's not a remake, though, it's just a HD version of the original. The mechanics and story and music are all the same, the only difference is the graphics. Back in the late 90s/early 00s, JGR/JSRF were graphically amazing, and not just because they were cel shaded. If they were remade on modern consoles, provided they had a good budget and weren't done as a cash-in, I can't even imagine how they could look today. I think they would stand a lot better chance in a modern market, too.Dr. Cuddlebug said:Burning Love said:No Jet Grind Radio/Jet Set Radio Future?

Jet Set Radio Future might get re-released eventually.
If Bethesda ever remade Morrowind, then they could add what is in Oblivion and Skyrim (respawning npc enemies, radiant quest, prettier graphics, face customization) but they would most likely remove the clothes beneath armor (no more wearing a common shirt under an iron cuirass) and streamline armor pieces together (cuirass and greaves are now one.). Still if Morrowind got a remake, Bethesda could add in things they envisioned for the game but never gotten to implement.exball said:I think Morrowind could do with a remake.

Offered to work on Morrowind. That would make one wonder what sort of mark you would of left on that game. Too bad Midway swayed you with dollar bills.Smokedaddy said:I was offered a job at Bethesda to work on Morrowind back in the day, but like an ass I let that pestilential shithole Midway wave dollar bills in my face and lure me away. Bethesda would have been a twenty times better gig, but they were $50K below Midway's offer. And I was an ass.
And it's too bad I was an ass. I've been kicking myself in the butt for that one for about 13 years now. Bethesda looked like a wildly cool place to work; it was a small, lean an' mean team, and looked kickass. The team you work with is really more important than the game itself, 'cause every game gets to be a colossal pain in the butt before it's over, and who knows what you'll get shuffled off to next round. Midway, on the other hand, was a shithole run by clueless waterheads. Everyone on my project was put on crunch time in March, and it didn't end until the game shipped at the end of January. That is a recipe for disaster. But -- it was $125K to start, instead of $75K at Bethesda, and greed won (because I am an ass). My producer made about $1M a year in salary and bonuses, which is a pretty neat trick for not doing any perceptible work.c-no said:Offered to work on Morrowind. Had you sticked with Bethesda, then I'd wonder what they would assign your job as. You working on a TES game would of been something, especially if you included a shout-out to the Chris or something like that.Smokedaddy said:And it's too bad I was an ass. When I got there, I wanted to work on a pinball game, but they'd just killed pinball. Arcade followed a few months after. See above re: me being an ass, but everyone else bought up the spare arcade hardware and build the bitchinest MAME cabinets you ever saw.
I have found the holy grail of joy.Dr. Cuddlebug said:A development team is seeking to remake Morrowind on an open source engine that will allow literally everything about it to be redone. Including combat/dialogue/textures/models/physics etc. Right now the only promised change about it is they're redoing the AI of Morrowind since it's something everyone disliked.

It also has the potential of being ported to various devices in the future (like Mac/Linux ports of Morrowind, or even ports to consoles.)
I never got why people love Final fantasy VII so much. I think it's a rather meh game.R.A.E.L. said:Final Fantasy VII. It deserves voice acting and much better graphics.
