I refuse to play Call of Duty.

CoD is quite frankly disrespectful to the US Military. It's fans are abominations.

Teenage boys who shout sexist, racist, and homophobic slurs, thinking that the guns issued to actual members of the military would get attachment's like "ACOG scope", with some of said teenage boys thinking that playing COD and having a high K/D ratio would mean they are "future marines"? I wouldn't blame ya in regards to the fandom.

ACOGs are a real thing. I prefered an M68 CCQ sight though since it allowed me to fire with both eyes open, which is important in city combat. I actually used an M68 on my SAW.

I preferred the simplicity of a red dot. Thinking will get you killed in combat- just put the red dot on the enemy and pull the trigger.

I actually trained myself to fire with both eyes open on iron sights. It was easier than I expected.

Once you find out what happened to your sister (no dialog, monologue, or anything resembling humanity or interaction) it fades to black. There's no ending. You just find out she ran away from home to toss her girlfriend's muff and that's the end.

The game doesn't have to be entirely realistic to be good, but CoD is failing at both. And the fans are way worse than the game could ever be.

I personally play Battlefield 4 on occasion, and these "shitheads" as you describe them have been invading OUR servers with their corner camping, spawn killing, quick scoping bullshit. Apart from that, the CoDfish are just terrible people in general a la Jace W. Connors.

I suspect many, many more just like him exist.

To be honest, I actually really liked all the CoD games I played. I played the original up through Modern Warfare 2 and only really stopped when my poor pc screamed "mercy" and refused to play anything bast the second one. The only multiplayer I really enjoyed in the series was United Offensive. Yeah, it's old but, man, they did things extremely right with UO and I still think it's one of the best games (both single and multi) out there.

Modern Warfare 1 was the only really notably awesome Cod game I played. It was also done really well and put you into you're own personal action movie. The single player campaign really outdid everything else and cranked the action up to 11 in a good way. MP is where I stopped giving a crap because a lot of the players were not fun to interact with like in United Offensive. It felt like the kills were a lot cheaper.

Anything with a monthly fee, I'm not gonna keep paying money to play the game I already freaking payed for.

Anything based solely around competitive online multiplayer, the moment your enjoyment of a game becomes dependent on the behaviour of others, it's not worth it imo.

Part of the appeal of most competitive multiplayer games is the idea of playing against an opponent that can predict your moves. Counter Strike is entirely based on planning around opponents and teamwork for this reason.

I found it at a second hand game/DVD shop that was in the mall near me for a while. I believe it was 99 cents and I got it specifically because it looked so awful. I'll see if I can find the DVD case. The DVD was one of those ones that starts automatically and has the menu tacked on at the end.
