53. DEATH STRANDING

It's funny they call DS the most advanced walking simulator in the world when it's really just MGSV part 3 with a kooky plot and mountain climbing once the game opens up. A bit more advance than Gone Home iirc.

also depending on how this last part goes, it might be my goty.

Kotaku is now questioning the validity of Death Stranding being nominated for the 2019 Game Awards, based on its less than dazzling scores and the fact that host Geoff Keighley is a close friend of Kojima.

The hypocrisy of Kotaku reporting on this is impossible to express into words. Like, this should have resulted in hypocrisy taking on humanoid form, crashing through the walls of Kotaku's offices, and beating Patricia Hernandez and Nathan Grayson to death with their keyboards.

Not the first time. They questioned Famitsu's review of Peace Walker being objective since you can find copies of the magazine in game.

Also I thought Kotaku died?

Kotaku just called for "ethics in gaming awards."

They're very angry at Kojima having a relationship with a guy associated with an award giving thing. It has an "appearance of impropriety."

Hi. My name is Stephen Totilo. You may remember me as the Editor in Chief of Kotaku, one of the world's premier sources for video game news. Recently, it was brought to my attention that one of my staff writers penned multiple articles in which he gave positive attention to a product created by a girl he was fucking. I've employed my masters degree in journalism to investigate this, and trust me, there was no impropriety or conflict of interest here whatsoever. Nathan Grayson has informed me that he only started fucking Chelsea Van Valkenburg after he wrote those articles. Nothing to see here, folks. How about checking out these articles by Patricia Hernandez? I hear they're pretty good, and definitely do not involve anything made by anyone she's fucking! (Christine Love? Never heard of her.)

What the fuck bizzaro world did I wake up in?

Being an acquaintance of this award host is unethical. Sucking dick for positive coverage is a-OK though :story:

One other major issue is the conflicts of interest that led to goobergrape were undisclosed despite an ethical obligation to disclose them. The connection between Kojima and Keighley are entirely publicly known and the so-called appearance of impropriety has been addressed. Keighley doesn't make the decisions in question.

It's a ridiculous argument on its face and by that token nobody could win any award from anyone they knew in the industry, so anyone well connected would be completely disqualified from all awards.

It's also pretty well known that awards ceremonies in any genre are incestuous clusterfucks and popularity contests. By being somewhat transparent about at least what process goes on, even if votes themselves are secret, people at least know on some level how the award was given.

Just giving endless gushing press coverage to some whore who sucked your cock while pretending you don't even know them is something completely different. I just think it's hilarious Kotaku, of all places, would even have the gall to raise an issue like this.

The impotent, seething anger and typical games "journalist" desire to cancel Kojima somehow is obvious.

Right now I'm in a weird position with him since he makes some damn good videos but I haven't liked his recent string of videos since I simply don't agree with his recent points. I didn't even watch this new one because I looked at the YouTube description and found that he had that Kotaku writer and I immediately r

Late reply but I looked at his twitter last night and he's really trying to fit in with this clique which is a shame because he's setting himself up for failure.

He was doing good by himself, dunno why he feels he needs to associate himself with these people.

He could have just saved everyone some time and posted "I'M NOT MAD! EVERYTHING IS FINE!"

"Literally kill me someday". JFC, what a drama queen.

LOL. The whole, HELP! I'M BEING HARASSED! thing doesn't work for white men. I'm sorry, but I didn't make that rule - your fellow soyboys did.
