You don't hate Journalists enough. That goes just as true for fandom journalists.
Don't forget how much more ridiculous it gets than that. In addition to this entire dumpster fire, most of these game journos were never into gaming to begin with. They wanted to use it as a stepping stone into better careers at better outlets, Forbes, NYT, WSJ, etc. of course none of those outlets gave a shit about video games in the first place so we got stuck with a bunch of activists in dead-end careers as game journos.

On top of that, while trying to tell us how we should like games because the marketing departments at video game companies have become even more bloated over the years you get a handful of game journos that believe they're the "chosen ones" because they get invited on free vacations regularly. Just in the past couple of years Ubisoft was flying game journos to Italy for their Anno game(Alyssa Mercante even got herself a trip to Italy because it was likely planned before she got laid off), Disneyworld for their shitty Outlaws game, etc. And of course that's in addition to all the random bullshit influencer merch they get(it's also why they hate youtube people because they get the same shit), it's effectively consoomer jealousy. EA, Activision, Microsoft, they all do this same shit. Even CDPR has flown people from the US to their HQ to show off some bullshit for a day or two and put them up for a week in a hotel. It was the same thing with E3 years ago and why game journos didn't want the general public going(like every other fucking gaming trade show/convention such as TGS, PAX, etc.) because it would mean losing out on the special treatment and status.

This is how you get broke idiots making fuck all for their articles acting like entitled brats above all of the typical gamer scum, because the the lucky ones get treated well sucking the teet of publisher marketing budgets and why nothing can be rated worse than a 7/10 unless it is truly blatantly awful trash that a sane person would rate a 3 or 4.

This is also why the consumers are supposed to just accept that the game journos know better than you and aren't biased even though their websites were funded by game publisher ad campaigns, and some whore going around blowing game journos totally wasn't going to bias anyone in her favor, all of the gamers just imagined it.

This was all based on Adrienne Shaw's research at DAIGRA,
There's a name I have not heard since the burgeoning days of GamerGate, in videos by Metokur back when he was using the Internet Aristocrat handle.

Yeah, the whole "identity politics" things was nuts. Did these people not realize that some of the most popular games had women in the lead? Metroid, Tomb Raider, Resident Evil, even MOTHERFUCKING MRS. PAC-MAN (which was way more popular with gamers than her male namesake). For fuck's sake, the Legend of Zelda series is named after the lead female protagonist!

Slight power levelling here: I am an autistic faggot that has been playing video games for decades, and while it is cool to see more gay and autistic characters in video games, I am not going to hinge my buying choices merely on that or guilt people into buying/liking those games. I have been playing games with neurotypical straight characters for decades without feeling oppressed or persecuted. I just realize that back in the 70s and 80s, there were barely any gay characters in media and autism was just starting to be understood, so it makes sense that it took a while for them to show up in games just like it took a while for them to appear in other media. It was not some GRAND CONSPIRACY like these ballsniffers claimed, just society moving slower than their liking. I mean, look how long it took for women, blacks, and gays to get their rights, so OF COURSE societal change doesn't happen over night.

And it sure as fuck doesn't happen because a bunch of fat, rainbow hair gender blobs scream about not being represented in a form of media that is statistically full of white, straight men. Or by pushing out shit articles about how "Mario Party" is a metaphor for American-Russian relations, or which "Street Fighter" character has the best ass.

Zelda wasn't exactly a protagonist in the first few. But some of the rest? Sure. It's simple, these journos were never gamers and were never interested in games otherwise they'd know this shit.

Just sitting here thinking about games with playable female protagonists where they're the main character or otherwise super critical to the plot and equally sharing the spotlight while not just being a damsel in distress before gamer gate

Final Fantasy 6, Final Fantasy X(if you actually pay attention to the story) and X-2, Final Fantasy 13, No One Lives Forever, Bloodrayne, most anything involving the Alien franchise, Perfect Dark, Super Mario Brothers 3 where Princess Peach was basically the best character in the game, Portal 1 and 2, Mirror's Edge, Oni, Beyond Good and Evil, Okami(the magic dog is actually a goddess), Parasite Eve, Perfect Dark, The American Mcgee Alice games, Bayonetta, Space Channel 5, Fatal Frame, Shantae

And that's without looking shit up, or even having played all of those games and just simply being aware of them. That's also from multiple console generations, some being entire franchises, multiple genres, and also without picking between a male and female character during character creation or whatever(because that can lead to discussions about which version is canon and so on).

Sorry, I should have said, "character pivotal to the story", but she does eventually become a secondary protagonist, like using the Sheik identity in OoT or shooting light arrows at Ganon in Twilight Princess. The latest Zelda game makes her the MAIN protagonist!

Super Mario Brothers 3 where Princess Peach was basically the best character in the game
Now I get to correct you. It was SMB 2, where her floating could get you into parts of the ma that Mario, Toad, and even Luigi couldn't do. The only playable character in 3 was Mario himself. Otherwise, you are dead-on. There has been TONS of kick-ass women in games, so to act like male gamers don't want to buy games with female protagonists is utter BULLSHIT.

You're right, that was SMB 2 and not 3. But hell, that just makes it even earlier in the franchise.

But yes, it's just that these fucking game journos were never gamers, never interested in games as a medium, as an industry, or anything of the sort. You can even go back years before gamergate with Adam Sessler(who has a thread) before he got fired from G4tv for being a fucking coke addict, guy never gave a shit about games and was hoping it would launch his career as a TV celebrity. Instead he's spent the past 20 years coked out and seething like a retard bitching and moaning about gamers as a whole even though that audience is the only reason why anyone knows who the fuck he is at all.

It's a clear pattern. These people get into journalism or communications, then think that writing about video games or starring in a TV show about them will somehow be a stepping stone to bigger and better things.

Only a very few like Olivia Munn have achieved that, and that was because she came off as a geek girl who was hot but relatable and genuine in her love of nerdy shit. "Games Journalists" like Alyssa MerCUNTe checks none of those boxes, just like Adam Sessler WISHES he could be the next Chris Hardwicke, hosting several shows about popular nerdy media like "The Talking Dead".

It's Cammy right? Has to be Cammy? Oh wait... those are gender blobs, no way they'd pick Cammy.

Paul Tassi's going to Paul Tassi over attractive female characters from Lords of the Fallen 2. Until he got embarrassingly roasted by Asmongold.

Article text:
Lords of the Fallen 2 publisher CI Games made it blatant back in January that it will steer clear of making its games political or including any social elements or agendas in its future titles. It claims featuring such things runs a high risk of pushing audiences away, and it would rather focus on serious games featuring serious stuff like sexy, scandily-clad women. Whatever you want I guess, just make sure to wash your hands when you're done.

This deliberately ignores diverse and inclusive successes like Baldur's Gate 3, which went on to sell 20 million copies, and cherrypicks high-profile cases like Concord to justify the belief that the inclusion of queer characters and unconventionally attractive women makes a title fail. Modern games are apparently in such a terrible state not because of greedy executives, ballooning budgets, and difficult to sustain development cycles, but because the female characters aren't hot enough.

It's an existing argument that very small yet very loud corners of the game development world cling to with unwavering ignorance, and Lords of the Fallen 2 appears to be leaning on it yet again, if recent comments from CI Games CEO Marek Tyminski are any indication.

Don't Worry, Lords Of The Fallen 2 Will Have Lots Of Sexy Girls

I played the original Lords of the Fallen, and despite some gameplay and visual qualities in need of improvement and a lack of polish, the game had plenty to offer. It was a compelling Soulslike experience with some inventive ideas I'd never seen before, such as a lantern you could shine around the environment to play with alternative realities in real-time, not to mention a robust and weighty combat system.

Improving on these qualities would be more than enough for a sequel, but in his pursuit to remove progressive politics and ideas from the game, Tyminski has only gone and made Lords of the Fallen 2 political all over again. How ironic.

"Many of you asked why the game initially had body type A/B," Tyminski tweeted this past weekend. "Hexworks started early 2020 as an autonomous studio owned by CI Games. Early on, political correctness and filtering meant not every decision reached me on time. I got a lot more involved from late 2024 and now act as Head of Studio alongside my CEO role."

He went on to say that A/B (over male/female) was the "wrong decision" and that Lords of the Fallen 2 will be "built on real player feedback, and it's crystal clear in the last two trailers."

When asked by a user whether the game would include attractive female characters, a short and sweet "yes" was given in response, which makes it embarrassingly clear the sort of audience Lords of the Fallen 2 is trying to court.

Within these posts, Tyminski seems to imply that the game perhaps once included a more diverse or even realistic character creator, but anything allegedly woke or progressive was stripped out and replaced with a toolset which mostly restricts players to super buff male protagonists or gorgeous women for them to objectify.

By claiming you are removing content you personally deem as political from a piece of art and replacing it with your own, you are creating a new agenda, whether you want to accept it or not.

But That Won't Make It A Good Game

It stinks of fake outrage, trying desperately to sell a 7/10 Soulslike by playing up the idea that the modern gaming landscape has somehow robbed straight male audiences of traditional experiences they now have a responsibility to take back. A similar thing occurred with Shift Up's Stellar Blade, which was held up as a symbol of resistance in the modern culture war. The game wasn't afraid to put an incredibly gorgeous heroine front and centre whose chest, butt, and overall figure existed as objects for players to obsess over and customise.

There was a belief among certain audiences that video game critics and progressive gamers were looking to tear Stellar Blade down, believing it stood against the DEI agenda we'd been slowly but surely infecting the entire medium with. But instead, it reviewed incredibly well and sold millions of copies, and now a sequel is even in production. Personally, I enjoyed Stellar Blade, and even thought Eve was a fun and attractive main character with loads of cool outfits to unlock.

And so the culture war moved onto a new target, and to this day the cycle continues. Lords of the Fallen 2 is a special case, however, because the developers behind this sequel seem to believe that cultivating this movement is going to make their game more successful. Either that or they truly believe in the nonsense they are spouting.

This game is not about progressive politics or the agency of players regardless of their gender or politics, but about fierce combat, uncompromisingly attractive female characters, and a world worth getting lost in. The irony is that in Tyminski's laughable pursuit of stripping Lords of the Fallen 2 of every single trace of diversity, he has turned the game into an object of political ridicule long before it lands in our laps. It will be remembered for that, and nothing more

Ah yes, a game developed for the wrong people... paying customers?
Well, troons aren't paying customers so they are unable to "vote with their wallet". Which only leaves them with constant bitching on social media in the hopes of having any influence on games they deem problematic.

It's funny how these whiny cows act like a game is going to be TERRIBLE before even playing it merely because there are attractive women in it? As if replacing them with fat ugly women will suddenly fix all the problems with it and turn it into GOTY? All that will do is ensure that 2 fat ugly chicks will buy it instead of 2,000,000 men.

I'm curious as to why these screeching faggots focus solely on video games. Why isn't their ire directed at, say, Hollywood, too?

"Why are they casting attractive actors in these movies?!?!?!?!?" "Put fat ugly slobs in there instead!!!!"

Odd.
