I honestly think that anyone who uses the terms "GamerGate" or "Anti-GamerGate" seriously now are pretty fucking lulzy. It was a big deal a few years back, but... well that's about it. The feminists lost their footing, people got fired, and some ethics were put in place. There you go. Game over. There's nothing left to back.

The only people that are piggybacking off of any of these movements are delusional fuckwits or people who are desperate for attention. No one has seriously cared about GamerGate in the past year.

Which just makes all of the delusional GamerGate crusaders still fighting for ethics and game journalysm even more hilarious.

Yeah, you do have people piggybacking off GamerGate such as Milo and Wu. Even then, once it's all truly over, things will go back as before such as Milo doing whatever else he tried to be a reporter on and Wu not having any face beyond that of a lol-cow in the eyes of some people.

I think it's only been only one year, but still you're right about everything else.

Gosh darn goober gigglers with their soggy knees and whatnot.

I can't understand what the endpoint of gamergate was. You intimidate some SJW's at gawker and get them fired. Then what?

Free Vidya?
Ethics in journalism? Honestly, it would of been getting rid of colluding journos (something like that). Now it's having fights against SJW's or something like that. Anti side may think it's fighting misogyny but the only end goal they may as well have is being autistic like the pro side they fight against. Only winners there may as well be is those that stay out of it and watch.

Shit, I'm pro now, but mostly because I despise most of the scumbags on the anti-GG side. Were they to become irrelevant, most of my interest would disappear, and said scumbags are loathsome for other reasons not tied to Gamergate as well, such as their desire to profit off lying and desire to pervert all media to fit their whims.

Outside of not liking the idea of these fools gaining a cultural foothold, I'm not nearly as hardcore about GG and think the extremists of both sides are embarrassing.

"Everything has its beginning. But doesn't start at "one." It starts long before that, in chaos. The world is born... from Zoe. The moment zoe becomes one is the moment the world springs to life. One becomes two, two becomes ten, ten becomes JurnoProList Taking it all back to one solves nothing. So long as Zoe remains, one... will eventually grow to be like Cash Overdrive Network again. And so our goal was to erase Zoe. Even the mighty Gawker began with a single man. That one man's desires grew huge, bloated; absorbed sex tapes; began to manipulate our twitter feed. We realized too late that we had created a beast. We had helped turn Zoe into 100 Anitas. Her sin... was ours. And for that reason, I'm taking it upon myself to send Zoe... back to nothing. [...] It's not about changing the world. It's about doing our best to leave the world the way it is. It's about respecting the will of others and believing in your own. [...] Zoe and I... Milo and Hotwheels... We all fought a long, bloody war for our liberty to free ourselves from systems, nations, norms and 4chan, but no matter how hard we fought, the only liberty we found was on the inside, trapped within those limits... Totalbiscuit and I may have taken different paths but in the end, we were both trapped inside the same cage... "Liberty." But you have been given freedom. Freedom to be... Outside"

Is this an except from something or did you just shit your brain pants?

I honestly don't understand what the point of Gamergate was to start with. Ethics in gaming journalism? What do game journalists even do, review games or some shit? If I wanted to know if a game was good I'd just look at comments on Amazon or something. I don't understand how "gaming journalism" is even a thing now that the internet exists or why anybody would get buttmad over it.

It completely wasn't about "ethics" and shit. That would imply gaming journalism was ethical in the first place. A bunch of guys on 4chan got mad when they finally realized that gaming journalism was just a hack fraud career path. Gaming journalism consists of writing clickbait articles, getting paid to give out good reviews to shitty AAA games, and giving your friend's game a good review. Then they came upon Zoe quinn doing what women do best, suck cock to climb the corporate ladder to success. Once that story was exposed, the feminists/tumblr jumped to one side and the MRA/4chan/8chan jumped to the other side. It was a giant proxy war in some aspects. They used the story of "gamergate" just to push their own ideologies onto the mass population of people who do not give a fuck about Kotaku or IGN. And the result of this war has been reduced to autistic sperging on both sides.

The obsession with the vapid and otherwise unimportant Zoe Quinn is exactly why this whole thing was viewed as a gigantic mass of MRA autism. This was enhanced by the arrival of the crackheads of /pol/ who took it as an excuse to do their best shitposting. If you knew nothing about gaming or gaming journalism before encountering this crap, you'd assume it was just a bunch of doxhappy fuckwads mad that a chick sucked some cock that wasn't theirs.

It's mostly about trolling SJWs. The "ethics in journalism" thing was their attempt to remain politically neutral. Opposing SJWs can be considered a political stance, but no one would literally argue that ethics is a bad thing.
