There is no way every single video game journalist's heart doesn't sink in whenever he meets someone normal in the world and they ask them 'What do you do' and he has to answer 'I write about video game news', killing them inside a little more every time.

If you think it's embarrassing making a living writing about video games, then maybe you shouldn't be doing that. If you can't take yourself seriously, why should anyone else?

I notice that a lot of these guys like to call themselves "philosophers". It's one of those terms where you don't actually have to do anything to earn the title.

GG was basically over 6 months after it started. People got burnt out, or realized that the mainstream media would stonewall them relentlessly. Everyone in San Fran tech was covering each others asses, so no one was gonna speak out unless they wanted to be lynched in the Bay Area.
The only people still going today, are either the autistic sperging out mirror-SJWs in reddit. Or the people who has built their new career off the newfound fame that GG had given them (CultofVivian/Shoe0nhead/etc)

I suppose Revolt could be considered a third group, they are basically angry that the lolcows on both sides ran over their dog and want lulz and revenge.
 
They did raise money for a bunch of charities, not including TFYC. Which to me seems more significant than whatever mean tweets Anita Sarkeesian might have gotten in the sea of shit that she's been getting in the year before GG existed.

While they did raise money for a bunch of charities, you still had autistic speds shitting up various areas of the movement, wanting it all to be in sticking it to SJW's rather than just showing some journalist collusion. At least we have speds of the pro side to laugh at like Homer.
 
Anyone can raise money for charity though. It doesn't exactly take a lot of effort to stump up a few bucks for sick kids or whatever. Lemme know when GG'ers start emigrating to Uganda to build wells.

Oh yeah, as soon as GG got outside 4chan the MRA's and MGTOWs and Redpillers and Shitstirrers all wanted a piece of the action. You had the people wanting to be the e-celebs, the people wanting to be one of the power brokers, especially when board ownership was up for grabs at 8chan. Youd could almost see how it turned into another Occupy. It drove alot of people out, the inter-group drama became too much. People thinking PR was still valuable after seeing the media just wanted to protect their Gaming Industry clients and publishers.

The only thing I think maybe they did was to bring the SJW into the wider conciousness of the conservative news sites, which were the only ones willing to pick up the story.
