They made "a gamergate movie" but not have it be about the actual Gamergate.
We could of had a movie about the ground zero of pretty much all non-Chris Chan related lolcowdom, gamergate itself. Instead we get this boring unfunny crap.

To be fair, if mainstream America heard of Chris Chan, I think we’d have a deluge of media outlets trying to make Chris into some kind of martyr while trying to justify him into some strong and independent woman.

It's a bold move for a "journalist" interested in pushing the old bullshit about GG (in order to smear a different group of people) to potentially put more attention on Quinn when a decent chunk of her supporters seem to have ghosted her after the Holowka suicide debacle. Honestly, if it weren't for the occasional cronyist pity job in comics or tabletop RPGs, most people would have forgotten she ever existed.

Even though to be fair the screenshot she's sperging about did mention GamerGate which you'd expect her to sperg about it in return, she's still dumb to even compare GamerGate with Amber/Depp.
You don't even have to support GamerGate to know that Amber Heard is a piece of shit anyway.

I'd imagine most people who realize Amber Heard is a piece of shit have literally never heard of goobergrope. When they read these crazy fake news journalists babbling insanely about how literally everything that happened in the last decade was somehow magically caused by a nerd riot they never heard of, they realize these people are nuts, or at the very least are confused and wondering what the fuck they're talking about.
Even mentioning it in a news story at this date is a sure sign of a blithering lunatic whose words on anything can be safely disregarded.

Even ResetEra, a forum that would ban you for even hinting at the idea that GamerGate wasn't solely about men bullying minorities (not even white women, because they're not oppressed enough anymore), held the position that Amber Heard was a lying abuser. Some other cesspools like RPGNet defended her against all evidence, but the actual alleged computer game forum was able to make a distinction this journalist couldn't.

Kotaku is unhappy that people are enjoying oreng cate game because it takes place in a Kowloon-inspired city and has Asian-inspired clothing and writing and that means FUCKING RACISM.

Kuntaku has really been desperate for clicks and ramping up their "race-bait for outrage clicks" game.
When a black developer was talking on Twitter about how the music note fight in Doctor Strange 2 resembled one in his still-in-development game, Kotaku HAD to make it about his race. However, even the developer smelled bullshit and hopped into the comments section to call out Kotaku for their race-baiting.

If anything, I find it concerning that it’s considered a rarity to call out a news publication for outright selling clickbait style information through the use of virtue signaling and people sighing a breath of relief that an actual developer was calling out Kotaku for being Kotaku.
Is it really that scary for people to finally realize that when someone is wrong they’re wrong, and think they can’t be challenged on that?

Not sure how much of this is true since obviously Kuchera himself is not a credible source, but if something like this really was happening, then I certainly have some sympathy and this is probably not a great time to go "suck it lol we told u so #gamergate."
Kuchera has deleted his tweets, which is for the best - whatever happened here, dragging his kids out as pawns in it is not a good idea, particularly if they really have been victims of sexual assault.
Let's see if this lawsuit comes.
