My next question for this guy is "So how does you being bullied at school relate to ethics in gaming journalism at all?" The answer is of course, nothing, all it means that he wants to be part of an oh so enlightened clique of people and can't see the massive irony in becoming exactly like the jocks he hated back in school.

Which was a throwback to the 80s. Even by the 90s pretty much everyone was playing the things. The stereotypes in Revenge of the Nerds existed for a reason. Most of these goofballs weren't alive the last time someone jock stereotype bellowed "NERD!!!" at me as I drove by them. Nerds won. Everyone plays with our toys, we have the good jobs, and they're trying to get more women in STEM where we hide out.

This turned into a different sport in the Oppression Olympics and most of the sane voices walled themselves off from the majority who pretty much turned into what they think they are raging against. They'd have thicker skin if they were actually bullied for real.
 
So recently several GamerGaters noticed a new anti-GG hashtag called #GamerGateAreNotGamers. Based on history, anti-GG hashtags usually go down within a week and it happened a lot of times. So by now they should know how to deal with the hashtag right?

Nah, they instead gave it more attention by sperging about the hashtag and instead of creating new hashtags like what they used to, they used the same #GamerGateAreNotGamers just to make it popular.

Also, they plan to use this hashtag by... showing their gaming profiles :story: to prove that they're gamers even though in reality gaming has gone more widespread so trying to prove it is pretty much like trying to prove you have a computer at home, which is a waste of time and they plan to use it as a retarded dick-comparing gaming profile contest.

On the bright side, there's another thread about it and thankfully some of them prefer to just ignore it.

I love GamerGate so much. I follow both sides like a peeping tom.

Usually the MRA fedora'd neckbeard spergs and the tumblrina rainbowhaired legbeard spergs play in different pools and stay away from each other. Which is generally good, since neither side needs to be out amongst the normies.

Then Gamergate happened and both sides jumped into the same pool and immediately started shitting, pissing, and trying to splash each other with the results. The internet hasn't been this hilarious in a long time. Both sides are filled with such massive autism that it's impossible to believe at times. Do the antis really believe that one day they'll have a utopia of indie walking simulators that offend nobody if they can just get rid of those darned neckbeard pissbaby gamers? Do the GGers really think their triple-A murderfests and other big budget cash cow games will disappear if some SJW makes one more walking sim that gets promoted by their blogger friend? Does ANYONE really believe gaming journalism has had a shred of credibility since 1997?

Both sides have their high and low points, but I will admit that I tend to side a bit in favor of Gamergate. The 'we demand you ban this, censor that, and protect our feelings' rhetoric that occasionally spills from the anti side is repulsive to me and is what tips the scale. That, and I'm not a fan of oppression olympics from anyone, gamer or otherwise. Also, not to powerlevel, but i'm old enough to remember jack thompson and most of this shit isn't really that different.
