Not giving you shit here, more like the author of this but... This just seems a bit far fetched. Maybe like it's looking into things that aren't there. On the other hand, if all of this context aligns with this post, you really underestimate the masses who would miss the entire point. For Christ sake people still like Larry the Cable Guy somehow.

No offense, but this sounds pretty delusional. Comes off as being written by someone who idolizes Colbert and desperately doesn't want to accept that his hero isn't whole-heartedly taking up a cause he believes in. I watched the show and never got this impression. Not saying its not possible, but I think this guy is trying too hard.

That's wishful thinking. I saw it as Colbert being Colbert. He never really dug into any of the facts, but just sort of made generic jokes about video games. I don't think he could have made Anita look like a complete fool without looking like a total jerk himself (to someone who goes into this knowing nothing, I mean). But he never really slammed gamergate that hard, either. The sole intention of that segment was to be funny.

It's interesting that Anita represented feminism as wanting women to have equality with men. That happens to be the Christina Hoff Sommers version of feminism, which is most definitely not the version Anita subscribes to.
 
I'm just sick of the whole "This is about games being a boys club" and "This is about MRA misogyny zomg stop threatening to rape and kill all women". No matter who I come across, it's always that.
Is there a single easy link that has a huge stockpile of evidence that this isn't about "gaems bein' fulla sexy plot devices" and instead about a cadre of people doing less than savoury stuff whilst hiding behind that pretend reason?
