I agree with everything you mean here, but saying 'lolfirstworldproblems' is moronic. Its the cheapest way to invalidate someone else's opinion in the world bar none, but again this boils down to you not thinking GamerGate is a problem. Which is fine because that's your opinion, but instead of being a normal person and just letting it be if it doesn't concern you you repeatedly whine about how stupid everyone is. When Marvin showed up and criticized us he actually had points, intelligent, well thought out points! You just show up every other page to stir the shit and contribute fuck all.

From what I've seen, they're hiding ads on their article pages and in certain localities. Adblock reports 5-6 ads blocked on main page.

I have to ask though, what in the name of fuck would this strategy be hoping to accomplish? To prevent people from attacking their profits they've decided to just... not have any? Do they think this will somehow blow over before their warchest runs empty and they're trying to lie low? I don't get it.

Colbert probably managed to be funny to all sides of this issue and anita managed not to act like a retard.
Stop acting like this is a huge win because colbert clearly ended the piece by reiterating that being against SJWs means you're against general social equality.

I mentioned it earlier, but it's a screening tactic. They rotate which ones are visible, to reduce the odds of people locking onto them for sponsor calls. It's a counterintuitive stopgap that's intended to cut down the ability of the likes of Operation Disrespectful Nod to nibble at Gawker's remaining advertisers. The problem is that rotating the ads thusly is also costing them money - so they're essentially weighing the cost of lowered advertiser exposure against the cost of advertisers being more susceptible to being pulled.

The TL;DR is that Campbell is starting a campaign to get out what the big devs feel about #Gamergate by ensuring a retaliation-free environment. He lists off his currently active connections to several in the industry to back this up. Additionally, he and several others are beginning a campaign to force the real narrative of Gamergate out via Vine.
