Kotaku is part of the Gawker Network, which has been for years -and moreso in the past few months- to be the lowest brand of tabloid trash, just in digital form. They never have anything worthwhile to bring to the table, but rather attempt to find news by antagonizing sources (see David Jaffe) and build stories off of that.
 
Forgive me for being a scrub but what side is the "right" side in this?
I mean, there's a whole lot of doxxing and supposed threats and I'm getting confused as to who's sending them and which side has any sort of moral high ground. I don't agree necessarily with Anita Sarkeesian and fuck knows there are decent ways to challenge her foolishness. I know that Tooltime9901 made a decent short series on youtube making concise rebuttals of her points. That said, while some if not all of her points are stupid as fuck, she still has the right to make them, in true Voltaire style. I would assume you guys agree.
I was told by someone I am following on Twitter that the whole "Zoe Quinn cheated on her man with all the guys at Kotaku in return for good reviews" was a smear campaign orchestrated by 4chan, and that they're by and large evil misogynists and shit. This was after another female friend who I know from FB introduced me to the disaster in the first place. She's an "amateur" game dev and she was pretty pissed with Quinn, and seemed to be having a sort of existential crisis, saying that because GamerGate happened, she can't get in edgewise into the industry without being looked upon with scorn.

I'm seriously confused as to who is in the right, and who is making the threats, who's doing the doxxing, etc. I don't think I'm a misogynist, and I respect women's rights, but I also don't take that as a license for them to be huge cunts. I apologize if this is ridiculous or makes me out as stupid.

The right side is whichever side you think is right. Read about the controversy from the perspective of both sides and try to come to a conclusion from that

I attempted to and I find hints of bias everywhere I look. I'm almost at the point where I just want to give up trying to make sense of it and take on individual arguments when I stumble across them. Most of the time I find that those making the argument that Zoe is guilty of this shit and Sarkeesian is full of shit are usually the kinds of kids who would be saying they fucked your mom over voice on some shitty military shooter game or making lame "belongs in the kitchen" comments. The only decent person I've found so far is my friend Casey, who introduced me to the whole mess.
What I want to know is "is it a fact that Zoe Quinn is guilty of this"?

Probably, but very few people on #gg's side actually care. The neckbeards are far more furious that all the gaming press made a collaborative effort to ignore it, then lashed out at 'gamers' in a co-ordinated smear pieces. Since then, the vast majority of media's been overwhelmingly biased and negative, painting all gamers as a misogynist he-man woman-hating nazi group, to distract from that fact that some investigative reporters have dug up a secret conspiracy mailing list where the Quinn blackout was planned, and gaming publications actively conspire to keep their buddies in and people they don't like out, engage in illegal blacklistings, etc.

Personally, I just want to see the clique of smug hipster idiots who run Gawker get their come-uppance (in a backalley, for $5 a pop, because they have no jobs anymore). They don't even bother to hide their corruption, bullying, and total lack of journalistic integrity. Their hubris irritates me. If you're going to be a corrupt gutter-press maggot, at least have the good sense to feign a little shame about it.

Oh, and the correct answer to "Is Zoe Quinn actually guilty" is "Literally, who?"

Well I may be biased but ask yourself.... Why would 4chan go after a nobody like Zoe Quinn? It's not like the people involved are internet illiterates. Where are the IRC transcripts leaked from the C&C IRC room that accompany every other 4chan raid?
There are some skype transcripts indicating moot is a faggot who wants to sanitize and sell 4chan and he now has a bunch of SJW mods.
I'll never go back to 4chan ever again, I remember the days of maxed out credit cards and moot begging for funds to keep going, I remember his users making him into a celebrity. I remember him crying like a little bitch when angel took control of his DNS, I remember when everyone rallied against anonymous borg, kimmo alm, and various other spammers. All so he could join the cool kids club of the tech world and start sticking his pecker in SJW strange. I also strange they're successfully modding against gg threads but somehow they were incapable of doing so against other threats in the past.

Fuck 4chan. I'll be ready to help whoever buys it feel like it was a mistake when the time comes. I hope he becomes the next girlvinyl and oh internet.

4Chan has been a bit better after that DoD doxing and especially after Gawker started going into freefall. Threads still get deleted at times but I've seen GG threads last to the bump limit and right now there are numbered Gawker threads. The consensus is that Moot knows he backed the wrong horse and is trying to salvage his website and his reputation
