Oh shit, Arthur Chu has cracked the code! It's Wizardchan, it's ALWAYS been Wizard Chan. Zoe Quinn's false flag attack on them and the kiwi farms are, in actually, a double reverse secret HONEST flag where Wizardchan has been the GG final boss the entire time. Thanks Little Hitler, you sure are living up to your degree.

A moderator for KotakuInAction, the subreddit where most of the reddit GG discussion is happening (and where I shamelessly lurk to cherrypick interesting stuff) posted a sobering look at how Gamergate is losing steam and followers on their page.

And that's the moderator discussing why there's a 0 for two-day subscription data
LWu is right, there's obviously only 350+ bleeting bullies shitting up the intertubes.
350 people is probably not enough to drive gawker to hide their advertiser list. Seriously. They really are into marginalizing people.
Meanwhile, gg makes Playboy. And we aren't interesting to wikeaks as gg. We are interesting because a fairly apolitical group suddenly got extremely vocal about media corruption. I was wondering why they started speaking up for us, it's a really cool reason.
So guess who got interviewed by MSNBC? Literally Who. I'm not even going to link the video its just more of the same old "I'm a victim, give me attention" and one sided narrative we've come to expect from the media and her.

MSNBC is taking the more liberal side to a story? Stop the presses. MSNBC bothering with Gamergate over real news is surprising though. Notorious blue state Arizona legalizing gay marriage? The rumors of Ruth Bader Ginsberg retiring? No lets focus on that gaming thing the guy from Firefly is pissy about. Yeah that's real news.
This one is primed to be an all-time classic, where Sam Biddle, fresh from a weekend of getting chastised for losing TWO gawker Sponsors (Bonobo & Mercedes) goes on the offensive!
By writing some nasty words against Based Ripped Lawyer, without ever acknowledging that he offered 10k for charity to punch Biddle in his smug fat face, and has already paid 2k to charities for people writing to Gawker sponsors. Biddle then goes on to complain about Based Mom (just a right-wing hack), Milo (an evil gay conservative looking to make a name for himself) and Adam Baldwin (D-Lister last seen as the man who shoots the alien in Independence Day) just being some random D-List conservative assholes picking on poor Gawker and aligning themselves with a campaign of hate to further their own agendas. He also complains about people making some pretty choice fan art.
And I say: So fucking what? EVERYONE is trying to further their own goddamned agendas. Everyone who supports Gamergate is furthering their agenda of supporting Gamergate. So Adam Baldwin wants attention? He's also furthering Gamergate. So Milo wants to further his career? He's doing it by furthering Gamergate. Gawker, of all the fucking rags out there, complaining that "D-Listers" are trying to jump on something to push their own agenda is too fucking rich.
Mercedes didn't advertise on kotaku or the showbiz rags, the car companies are or were advertisers on jalopnik. That's who Biddle was referring to as friends. Don't have an actual problem with jalopnik, but that's what happens when your branding goes sour. In the real world that's when a collapsing business starts spinning off successful pieces so as not to kill them.
I have figured out why I am so fascinated by gg. It is not being coopted by letting its message get coopted. They are trying, but this time the forces that tend to twist the narrative and ruin a movement are the target and not members and they still try and fail. Some is probably the power of autism, but mostly its because a lot of sane voices are helping, and those of us 70s and 80s nerd kids that didn't commit suicide finally can step in and protect someone else. It is nothing like it was, but we won't let it go back to what it was.
All the opposition has is namecalling. That lost its power 20 years ago.
Plus Milo. I was leery because of the sensationalist reporting he does, but every interaction with him shows that he has incredible integrity and ethics. Guess that just plays into the idea of pre-judging. Plus he can snark on twitter like a beast.
The best thing with all the gg people i follow is the huge spectrum of politics and lifestyles. A lot of young people are learning that disagreement isn't hate and tempers can flare but it is almost always talked out like civilized beings. It's like watching the best of the internet coalescing from the worst kind of garbage (the dehumanizing part of the internet, not the people) right before your eyes.
Just looking Alexa and I was wondering about the website stats for Kotaku and Polygon. It seems like they've had a massive spike in traffic for October but the amount of traffic from search engines and the page views per person keep going down. Are they spamming Facebook with clickbait?

Pretty much. Their last few game-related articles were shit like "Pokemon's worst generation being remade" (regarding the Ruby/Sapphire remakes) and how sexist Bayonetta was. They're relying on the Tumblrista crowd to fill in for the clicks they lost when they pissed off their actual consumer base, but Tumblristas care not for games and care not for their triangulation attempts. So they clickbait - as loudly, as hard as they can, as Gamergate and Operation Disrespectful Nod continue to take their toll.
By all accounts, GG's already cost Gawker literally millions. Keep it up.
Someone find him and slap him in the face. HARD.
These people give NO shits about anyone's rights, only their own privileges.
In fact, punch him. Frequently. What moronic ghoul associates anything about these people and actually thinks "oh yeah they care about rights, while doxxing, using dead trans people as props, mocking other races and such for not agreeing with them"
Progressive my fucking arse, they're literally a clique of self-absorbed shitheads and nothing more.
According to this journalist, people in high up positions on gaming websites colluded to blackball a writer who supported gamergate from being able to be hired. Now, this heavily involves Destructoid who are trying to claim that none of that is true because they are innocent bloggers run out of some guys kitchen and anyway that's just an industry trade forum where professionals network.
The writer who was fired resided in Florida, where this is considered "conspiring" and is legally a very bad thing.
So there you go, journalists are illegally being blackballed from their industry for speaking against the wishes of their conspiring masters.
So remember my post earlier about Destructoid getting itself in to potentially a whole lot of hot water for colluding (and what is now turning out to be unlawful firing of a disabled person)?
Their Editor-in-Chief just quit because he doesn't like the direction the company is heading or some of it's previous (unnamed) decisions.
Without going into details, I feel certain actions taken and statements made by Destructoid management have not accurately reflected my feelings or taken my input as Editor-in-chief into account. I’m no longer comfortable having my name attached to the continued engagement with former staff.
I love Destructoid. It has been at the center of my life for just short of a decade. It was one hell of a ride, and I’ll miss it and its people dearly.
In additional news, Sam Biddle is still an asshole but he didn't start the whole "Based Ripped Lawyer is a secret sexist bully", that's stuff dredged up from his previous tweets - something that is completely reasonable to do! Social media is a blight on personal and professional discourse and people have little filter so this is expected and should be done.
But the publisher for one of the sites he works for Mike wrote about it on his site and it's wonderful
Mr. Cernovich behaved no differently from Gawker and the Social Justice Warriors attacking him. We expect higher standards from Mr. Cernovich.
Acting like Gawker Media is unacceptable and will no longer be tolerated.
Mr. Cernovich has been instructed to raise his standards and stop acting like Gawker Media and their associated allies.
Jesus Christ and there's even more, such as BMW (not fully confirmed ATM) and Lexus (Ditto) emailing letters to people letting them know they've pulled out too
What the hell is with the character design and visuals? The general models are really unsettling-looking and their movements come across as jittery and off-kilter. This looks like a game that was created a decade and a half ago for the PS1, not a recent IOS title. The action also looks really sluggish and uninteresting as well. Grid-based combat was done better and more coherently in games like Peacekeeper. The hit detection's off as well, as evidenced at 1:30 where the grenade's explosion hits her despite being technically out of range. The combination of slow-paced combat, quick-time events, and boring visuals does not make this game terribly appealing, especially on a marketplace as competitive as mobile gaming.
Overall, this doesn't look very enjoyable, based upon this demo.
Also, does anyone else find it hilarious that someone who shit-kicks about Misogyny has female characters in skin-tight costumes? Just asking.
And now, we have an alleged devfag on /gg/ - who brings us thus:
I disagree with the crash theorizing (a Crash like 1983 won't happen; there's simply too much set up to prevent it), but we are witnessing the end of an age. It's a new world out there we're approaching, a better one - and we're going to have to keep up the awesome to fight for it, methinks.
Earlier in this thread I mentioned that one of the people on the GameJournoPros list was also the host of a weekly podcast I listen to, The Comedy Button. In their most recent episode one of the hosts -- I believe the one who is on the GameJournoPros list -- casually dropped the phrase "can't we just make fun of Twitter or something, they ruin everything".
It's kinda shitty, but it's nice that they've pretty much kept silent about GamerGate. I have a feeling it would otherwise destroy the show since one of the other hosts works for Destructoid. The show is pretty much floated by someone from IGN; at least, he's the reason why I listen to the show at all, and I think it's that dynamic that's prevented the podcast from spiraling into SJW bullshit but his sense of humor and personality overshadows that.
Anyways, Sommers is going to Debate LW2 at GDC 2015. How much are you willing to bet that there will be another convenient "terrorist threat"? View attachment 7837
Almost certainly Anitas going to find a way to back out. Everyone knows she's a lousy public speaker and typically only speaks when she can 100% control the narrative, hell I'm surprised she even agreed to this. Though if she does go through with the debate I'm expecting something similar to the BBC discussion or the Huffington Post debate where the anti gg sjw side acts like complete idiots and has to resort to name calling and personal attacks.

I think this would be great as long as it is done correctly. The LWs have a right to a voice, even when I don't like what they say. If they manned up (so to speak, forgive the figure of speech) and left their hugboxes and stopped the bullying tactics I would happily losten to them. They'd have to accept that they need to live to a higher standard of proof, and that's a good thing.
I first heard based mom on local right wing talk radio. She went into the lions den. I think it was for the first edition of The War on Boys, probably right around when it came out, right around 2000. I have read a lot of her stuff over the years. There are two ways to get equality - find a way to raise everyone up (hard but rewarding), or drag others down to the lowest common denominator (easy). Lots of people talk big on the former but really focus on the latter. She doesn't, and that alone inspires me to help lift people up I might not otherwise have thought about.
