So do false protective orders but there's not one judge on the planet who wants to appear in the paper when the person who had a protective order against them dropped murders their ex. If he wanted to present his evidence, there was nothing preventing him from filling out the form, standing in line and having the judge sign off on this. They almost always do.

The power of bureaucracy, no? I'm pretty sure he had the evidence, but apparently from the reddit posting, the lawyer didn't get a real chance to talk, let alone really present anything to refute the claims. Maybe I read the post wrong. Even so, he can still go to the appelate and file something on her. If he does a little work before they appear before the court for the appeal. But, I do agree, a lot of judges have to be cautious because the last thing one would want to have on their resume to move up in the political world is them signing off on something, then that person does something horrible in turn. I would honestly use the time between the cases to start gathering heavier information. Worst case, the judge dismisses it as circumstantial, best case, the judge sees that the woman is clearly unstable and is using the legal system to twist some arms(people do it everyday, but there it is) and reverses the previous judges decision, thereby nullifying it. I don't know, this all reeks of some serious repercussions for the guy. I honestly think she will never be held accountable for her actions.

Why would the judge care that she's "clearly unstable"? That never enters into the equation. "Clearly unstable" people have legal protections under the law too.

The point is that protective orders are

a. not that hard to get issued
b. pretty hard to get rescinded without mutual consent
c. are usually best dealt with in kind.

They're usually rescinded when they create a practical dilemma, such as a husband and wife who have reconciled. There's virtually no advantage to rescinding a protective order against the victim's wishes and a huge liability to doing so.

It wasn't a bad idea to try to get it rescinded or modified but that's only because it didn't cost him anything. It was a colossal waste of everyone's time, though.

There's a report from 8chan operatives that the individuals who attempted the Dox are none other than Christopher Poole's recently-appointed mods on 4chan, which would go a long way towards explaining the sudden FBI interest if this turns out to be legit. Poole, as you may or may not be aware, has had an.... Interesting relationship with the US criminal justice system over the years.

I've been unable to verify any additional info on the matter, but if this is true, it's one of the fucking funniest turns of events in this story thus far.

You think maybe a certain site admin might get thrown under the bus by his own cronies in order to save their skins?

Really, though, I'm sure nothing will really happen. Chances are they will get fined, get probation, and go right back to what they were doing to begin with. I mean, after a long tongue-bathing er, I mean lashing from their lord and savior.

Also, off-hand mention: Kind of surprised there's no word-filter for 4-chan. Just a lingering thought.

This really isn't on topic, but I've decided that if I ever start blogging, I'm going to just dox myself right from the start to save them the trouble. All I ever get in the mail is bills, and the only people who call me are the bill collectors and the SJW's of all stripes can take the most innocuous thing and turn it into a check your privilege/kill yourself shitstorm.

On topic this is the closest I've followed the modern game scene in years. I usually only follow the retro homebrew scene because it's fascinating to me and I'm impressed with what people have been able to do with 20-30+ year old hardware that wasn't even designed for mere mortals to develop for. I do wish this whole mess would be over soon, but it looks like it's going to be a long ride.

I don't want to be doxxed, which is why I am keeping myself away from this shit. I'm mostly getting my info here and on the #gamergate side. I just can't believe that 4Chan is on the SJW side as it is highly uncharacteristic of that site to even censor things. Does anyone know why they changed or why moot is engaging the SJW side?

Also, I feel bad about that transwoman killing herself and I am disgusted by how the SJWs are trying to politicize her death, there was nothing that Kate said that implicated gamergate.

As for that one video of the seminar, the guy that destroyed the GTAV cd, I am surprised that no one brought up how that parallels Christian fundamentalists burning books like, say Harry Potter, because it "teaches witchcraft."
 
After the tumblr vs 4chan thing, one of the tumblrinas tried to suicide. That happened to be the niece of a Gawker Media higher-up. Moot's girlfriend is connected to them.

Well, due to this, moot decides to replace the staff, because the mods let this shit happen. The staff is now mostly composed of SJWs, which is why censorship is at an all time high at 4chan.

Just generalizing here but, I don't know why people should worry about being"doxxed" by these kinds of people. What can they seriously do? Say mean things to you over social media? Call you at random times at night, while trying to hide their giggling like 16 y/o girls? "Swat" you while playing an online game? Call the FBI on you? Most of these people who"dox" other people don't even live in the same state, or country. I don't even think many of them grasp the simple concept of harassment, or even the basic fundamentals of law in general. It is all really quite sad that the death of another human being is being politicized and being used as fuel for the SJW's fire.
