For a second there I thought this was a resurgence of the "4chan Gold Pass" meme from... well, I don't want to look up how long ago. I'll feel old surely.

I think 4chan will still live on. people still came back after most people went to 7chan or whatever back in 06-07.
now there will be a new generation of 4chenners or whatever.
 
He's also an asshole and Breitbart is a right-wing publication.

Not disqualifying him in this case - we need all the exposition we can get, even if it's like getting the NRA as your allies for peaceful protesting - but well, this is one of the major disqualifiers for him. [Then again, the other side has Leigh Alexander, so fuck it.]

We're looking at facts here, I'm a pretty far left liberal but at the same time I don't dismiss facts because of where they come from, if a person has evidence of a claim and does solid journalism to back up their information then their evidence stands for itself regardless of the person's background.

Seriously it's like people have the lost the ability to research things for themselves and simply go "Oh X information can't be true because it's on Y website, and Y website doesn't agree with me everytime"
 
That being said, King of Pol one of the researchers who was investigating the DiGra debacle has been doxxed by 4chan staff. Anonymity is now also dead on 4chan, and m00t is letting this continue on despite his now false claims of being against doxxing.

Actually, I'm not bringing this up because I see that, myself. Aside from the last article Milo wrote about Emma Watson [which I see as going too far on the anti-feminist side]. I'm bringing it up based on arguments I've seen before: people refusing to accept it because of the source [just like how #GamerGate people are refusing to give those media sites their ad revenue by not accessing them].

Also, Milo can be right and still be an asshole. You know, like Maddox. Whether this ruins the argument depends on what people see 'being an asshole' as; Anita Sarkeesian's strength in her videos comes from how she makes sure to seem too much like a TV anchor and use careful wording to manipulate the audience. People don't catch on to her bullshit because she's not using insults, just technical terms that are insults.

But fair enough. Even I am following Breitbart, I just don't take them seriously outside #GamerGate.
 
Warning: Unpopular Opinion Inbound

After being around the center hub of GamerGate news for so long, I'm honestly getting a bit tired of it all. Burnt out is maybe the better way to put it.

Yes, I think that Zoe Quinn doesn't know how to make a good game
Yes, I think that game journalism as a whole is corrupt
and now Yes, I think that Moot might be off his rocker finally and it is best that the imageboard community at least spread out.

But the entire foundation of the 'movement' has little meaning. It feels more like a proxy for some deep seated butthurt on both sides.
And many times it just boils down to "MUH GAMES".

I like games as much as the next fellow, but let's be honest, we know other areas of journalism experience identical severity of scandals and corruption. Yet we don't bother digging into those at GamerGate levels. And just because it isn't about yidya? Where is #NewsGate?

I support the movement as far as the ideas go, but we are so far off track now I find it difficult to invest this level of emotional energy into it.
If you have fun with it, more power to you. I'll at least have fun sidelining watching the aftermath :popcorn:

Assuming it doesn't die off from m00t's faggotry, yes it'll live on. But considering his recent bullshit those new channers will likely be sjw's.

Off topic, but I misread you as though you were posted as if were new info, I guess I can undo the rating if it really means that much to you.
Also there should be some sort of notification or something on whether a rating is negative/positive, some are obvious but I didn't think late would give a negative.

Speaking of which, I actually met Leigh Alexander in person just last month. I had no idea who she was at the time, but she was drunk and obscenely smug about her own position as a game journalist. I asked her which sites she'd worked for, and between sips of liquor, she responded with, "Which sites HAVEN'T I worked for!?"

I still have her business card somewhere...
