I don't really see this ending "well" for someone like Zoe no matter what. The best case scenario is that she gets a lot of cats and transitions into being a harmless, overly-medicated garden variety neurotic.

A fucking FMV Game? Really?
I thought we cleared up some time during the 90s that these pieces of non-interactive filth were to be treated as "games" in the same sense we treat Train Simulators and Typing Tutors as games.
That said, I kind of hope this is true.
We totes needed games like Fox Hunt in the modern era, so we could be reminded of what true shit is.

Remember, her first "game" was unreleased because people outed her as ripping off something else entirely, and for all we know she added the FMV part as a kneejerk reaction to Freddy's.

I'm working on a pretty awesome indie game right now, and my best friend is/was a "game journalist" for Machinima (purely through coincidence, and until they repeatedly flaked on payments), so this whole thread is really fascinating on a level that runs deeper than "hey, lookit the lolcows!". It's really just so freaking easy to disclose a relationship in an article right up front, and even easier to disclose it in a footnote. I'm not sure how it wouldn't immediately occur to an intelligent person, except for the fact that pop culture churns out untrained, unprepared, unaware amateurs who can give themselves any title they want. Combine a modicum of tech savvy and a desire to insinuate yourself into a culture you like but cannot directly contribute to, and you're in.
It's amazing how many "writers" work for free, or don't understand how to attribute images properly, or the serious FCC regulations on paid reviews / free samples. Such a vast majority of the pop culture-reporting industry is just oblivious that these things even exist. They see Teh Internet and assume that they can do whatever they want without any moderation. I'm generously presuming that this is the space where these kids who are "reporting" are coming from, but it's also laziness, and in the RARE event that they studied writing or journalism, the total inability of the modern college system to prepare people for the practical and.or safe application of their skills.
In short, fucking LEARN something, writers. /End of sperg.
PS - seeing all of these asshole game devs make me worry than I'm a secret asshole too.

Well to be fair, there are FMV games that I personally enjoy a great deal. A good example is Wing Commander 3, which had legitimately good Hollywood actors like Mark Hamill and John Rhys-Davis. The FMVs also added a great deal to the gameplay since the story was very cinematic compared to the previous games, and it featured things like animated FMV portraits in combat.
There are even terrible FMV games I still enjoy playing. Phantasmagoria 1 is a pretty average video game but I still played through it. Same with even the second game despite being objectively worse. I even played through that shitty fmv game Ripper because I liked the actors and the puzzles. Plus Spoony turned me on to it so I liked it for that reason too.
Granted there are a sea of FMV games that are basically unplayable, I'm just saying FMV games aren't Hitler.
Also typing tutors are all shit except for this game and it's sequel.
Very few video game journalists went to school for it. The ones that do like Stephen Tolito have actual positions of authority like running Kotaku. Hell I even wrote articles for a few websites in my spare time. It's a really easy job to get into and unfortunately one that corrupts an individual quickly if they get popular.

When people mention FMV games, they aren't referring to games like space sims or adventure games where you have control and depth. They mean awful games like Sewer Shark, Ground Zero Texas, and Night Trap, where you just watch videos and hit the occasional button.

Right but all of the games I mentioned feature a great deal of FMV segments. The designers were just smarter about incorporating them into the game.
I'm not saying it's going to be a good game, not remotely. I'm just trying to defend the decision of making an FMV title since it's not a terrible medium if done properly.

The dev of Depression Quest cheated on her ex boyfriend with 5 guys. She was a massive hypocrite and beforehand claimed that "cheating on someone is rape" like the SJW she is. After that the internet was really pissed at how many of those journalists wrote about her game and gave her publicity because she slept with them, and they also contributed to her Patreon account (both of which would be a firing offense in any other journalistic medium). Now everyone is really annoyed at video game journalism websites for not talking about this and their lack of journalistic integrity.

Apparently someone on this forum linked it to Zoe and she went with it, claiming that the people on Wizardchan gave her death threats and that they were constantly harassing her. It has also been revealed that Zoe has a history of claiming she was "mugged" and asking people to donate to her. This all got people to donate to her Patreon account.
4chan has been livid over Zoe for the past week or two. Zoe also ruined this group's contest called the Fine Young Capitalists, and 4chan has been donating to them so their project can go through. Here's the details on that.
Zoe also made a copycat contest called "RebelJam" which has no end date and no judges, and has a donation page that goes straight to her personal paypal account. She has a history of manipulating even fellow SJWs into giving her money.

Thanks. I already had a pretty low opinion of her cheating on her boyfriend, cause that's just plain uncool, but this whole RebelJam thing... fucking leech.
I really doubt any upstanding members of CWCki would give enough of a fuck to do that. It is weird that both Wizardchan and CWCki got pulled into this mess. 4chan I can understand, but Wizardchan and CWCki are pretty fucking obscure, I'd think.
