Does anybody remember a more simpler time of "gaming journalism", like how John Romero should remove his face from Stevie Case's surgically enhanced bosom so he could finish Daikatana? Or trying to calculate how many men Cliffy B performed fellatio on to afford his shiny pimp suits? Or how many vending machines Derek Smart destroyed? Or how much creatine monohydrate Jace Hall consumed to make the Lithtech 1.0 engine?
 
InternetAristocrat says he's gonna put up a new video today as a part 2 to the Quinnspiracy video. Hasn't happened yet, but he hasn't made a new post since yesterday, so he's probably just not online to upload it ATM.

I really don't care for JonTron, and yet somehow I now find myself on his side opposing Egoraptor, whose stuff I watched since DBZ in a Nutshell.

This whole debacle has really created a bunch of unlikely alliances for sure.

But I am confused as to what exactly is going on here. From what I am seeing this Quinn woman slept with some journalists in order to gain favorable reviews. Somehow Reddit and 4chan get involved and there is some war between those that support Quinn and those that don't.

Did I get it or not? What's my grade?

Pretty much. The main issue to me is that she slept her way up the ladder to get her text game recognised, and gaming websites are being surprisingly coy about covering the issue, going so far as to censor and edit information when people try to call her out on it. Apparently they were also riding on the Robin Williams death train with the timing of this release, but I haven't read so far as to clarify that.

I'm not even sure why this is a debatable topic when it's such a clear-cut form of collusion, but whatever. If a man slept with five female gaming bigwigs to get his game high reviews, I'd be just as pissed. This is a whole new low for gaming journalism.

{EDIT]: Oh yes, and she doxxed herself to get this shitstorm rolling. Forgot about that.

[SECOND EDIT]: Also, Phil Fish is a twat, though I think we already knew that well before this ever started.

Eh, you've more or less got it. It of course goes much deeper than that, but as you said... drama and bullshit.
It makes me sad--and honestly a bit upset--, because none of this is what gaming should be about. *SIGH*
 
I've heard of Phil Fish before all of this drama, but I've never played his game, Fez. Ever since the release of Duke Nukem Forever, I try to avoid all games created by the mentally ill.
 
Polygon and other major gaming journalism outlets are reporting the Polytron hacking as real. Why can't this ride end.

I don't see why this is a big deal. Depression Quest is meh at best, and disingenuous to people suffering with depression at worst. It not worth all of this drama. The Five Guys reference do make me laugh though, as I bet their company's PR must be WTFing huge right now.

This isn't really about Depression Quest anymore. In fact, it never really was. It's about corruption in Game Journalism.

First of all, did the journalist she sleep with have any real clout? I'm not defending her actions, and she sounds like a habitual liar, but I've never head of any of these guys. Now, if it was like the editor in chief of WIRED, or something that is actually under a media company, I could see why there's cause for concern. Let's face it, that standard for "games journalism" is pretty low.

She slept with her boss, and the chair to an indie gaming recognition comittee. Grayson fellated her game hard enough AND was the guy to reprt on the wizardchan fiasco that has since been proven false. Those are just three of her lays.

Video game journalism is such a shit heap exactly because of crap like this. Its like a junior high clique.
 
/v/ has had like 7 Quinnspiracy threads (each with like 600-700 replies) today, and counting. Some shit is about to go down.
