Sooo... Just throwing it out there, has anyone been able to confirm the ex-boyfriend's story is true at all? Or is he literary the only source?
 
God I hope this permanently disgraces and discredits everyone involved, and somehow leads to gamers rioting in the streets, neckbeards invading the offices of game reviewer sites, the bodies of all vidya game journalists tied to the backs of pickup trucks using ps2 controller cables and dragged till they are reduced to bloody chunks, and Yahtzee carried on a throne made of the castrated cocks of all quinn's conquests, and made the lord high god-king of all gamedom

This feels weird to say but "none of the guys denied fucking her".

He would have had to have spent a hundred hours making those screenshots and doublechecking the timeline (especially because she was an "unreliable narrator" and lied about all of them first), and Pink Mohawk Boi or Grubby Gamewriter (who have both commented) would have certainly mentioned "and also we never fucked" since it would have made every other argument about them and conflicts of interest moot.

Right, and having said that I need to go think about my priorities and read an educational book or something.

It's seems plausible she did have sex with at least some of the names mentioned, or rather, it seems pretty clear that she did.
I don't know if that's proof of some kind of great conspiracy though (I'm mainly referring to the video on the first page here).

I want to say yes, but outside of the hardcore gamers, I don't think this'll matter much. Life will continue on as normal. And that's the worst part about this whole ordeal.

I saw this ages ago and I thought it was a good look at what depression is like. I don't know why she's going to such great lengths to push it and why she feels like it needs to be on Steam - it's perfectly fine as a browser game.

If you haven't followed it full tilt like I have, here's a recap of recent events:

  • InternetAristocrat is doing another video to be uploaded Friday evening
  • TotalBiscuit and Jontron are openly dissing SJWs, while Egoraptor is just reading the "fucked five men" part and going MUH SEXISM
  • Someone with the openly available Journalism Handbook analyzed what is going on, and the Gang of Six pretty much fail all criteria as expected
  • Vice released an article that pretty much fits into what IA said about the news articles that would ignore what is going on in favor of defending Zoe's stupidity, and the comments fucking exploded in response
  • Adam Atomic on Twitter pretty much admitted to wanting to DMCA things critical of Zoe, including TotalBiscuit's next podcast
  • Nathan Grayson has lied about the publishing dates of articles in relation to meeting Zoe twice now
  • This audio recording from the person at Fine Young Capitalists who set up the game creation thing that Zoe shot down for no reason was released
  • The DQ steam discussions page is still being censored by a "Depression Quest developer"
  • Zoe not only faked her Twitter and Tumblr being hacked, but also used fake dox that pointed as far out as the phone number of a Hawaiian motorcycle repair shop, the number being claimed as her dad's home phone (when the store is closed atm due to one of the workers being in a bad car accident)
  • The wonderful Zoe was revealed to have insulted someone for being trans even after she has made so many tweets in support of them, and she said it mostly to get their ass kicked by people nearby

I can't help but feel like, if things were reversed and a man had gone and slept around with females in power to get favorable publicity for his game, this would've blown up a lot sooner (as well as much, much bigger with smear campaigns left and right and the resounding support of the 'net) and the guy's career would be pretty much destroyed.
I dunno, just mulling that over.

I could see that happening (at least with the Kotakus of the world). But it's such a relatively minor thing that I could see it being just as "big." Random indie developer you don't know fucks for good reviews gets less hits than "New CoD information."
 
So, I just ran through Depression Quest and while I am not sure I would call it a game, it certainly hit home with me. Frankly, this makes me even more irritated with Zoe, this could be a really useful tool in helping people with depression. So many things in that story reflected on shit I deal with on a daily basis, and I have already made arrangements to see someone. Like, I don't talk about this because people really don't react well to people who feel this way, so you bottle it up and assume that no one cares and you should just keep it inside, everyone else deals with life so why can't you? I would really like to see more people with depression get help, and reading this it was nice to know I am not unique in feeling this way. The thoughts the guy had are much of the same things I think, some even down to the wording. But the thing is, any usefulness this game would of had went right out when the author decided that high reviews were better than integrity. That seriously pisses me off/
