everyone immediately dodged the question.

I have never played a Gacha, but I would presume that they use the appeal of their characters to get people trapped inside their skinner box. The answer seems quite obvious.

If I had to guess the reason why certain games have more art than others I would say it comes down to:

1) The expansion of the Internet to have more people and more artists in general.
2) A large cast of unique characters that artists can become obsessed with
3) These games are usually free and have seasons/arcs so people not only keep talking about them, but also form active communities around them.

With point 1, Touhou has been around for a long time, but the Internet was a much smaller place back then so that does not count for much. It does not help that spaces facilitating the easy sharing and discovering of of art like Twitter did not really exist until recently.

I believe that point 3 is an especially potent factor because artists want to get noticed. An artist looking for attention will naturally invest their time into already growing and active communities. This then feeds into itself. Despite having a colossal amount of art I would presume that Touhou Project does not have as much of an active community simply because their games do not come out that often. Another comparison could be the Bronies and their art - it was probably a lot more active when that show was still ongoing.

There is also Warframe. It introduces a new Warframe (playable class/character) every few months, which you can either grind (and also wait 72 hours for it to be crafted), or just pay $10 to $15 to get instantly. They then started releasing Prime Warframes, which is a Warframe but with fancy gilding and very slightly increased stats (it doesn't matter), which costs $80+ for the base tier, up to $140 for all of the bells and whistles. You can also grind ingame to acquire it, or do some RMTing trading the premium currency of platinum (bought with real money) to other players for the parts. Like gacha games with their FOMO premium banners where a character is only available to roll for a limited time before they become unavailable for several months or years, incentivizing you to pull when you see them rather than regret missing them, Warframe does the same thing with Prime Warframes where they are "vaulted" and become unavailable to purchase for years. The player market platinum prices of the prime components then skyrocket. Warframe is unusual in how the monetized Warframes look inhuman, no identifiable eyes or mouths, let alone a voice.
Warframe is anything but a gacha game, if you can buy what you want at a fixed price directly from the in-game store, it’s not gacha/gambling. A gacha game wouldn’t let you buy the brand new character directly, you’d have a boosted pull rate banner with 1% at best chance per pull of getting the new character, and a pity system after a hundred or pulls if the game isn’t too chinky. A gacha game is designed to drain you of hundreds monthly, whereas Warframe maybe wants 20 bucks from you every one to two months if you’re too lazy to grind relics for plat.

The original western ‘gacha game’ equivalent would be something like the crates in TF2 where you gamble a few dollars per pull for shitty odds of getting a glowing hat, with retards defending Valve popularizing video game gambling in the west because you can sell the shitty $20 glowing hat you pulled after spending $100 on keys.

AYO THIS NIGGA WAS POSTING PICTURES OF WHAT HE CONSIDERS SEXUALIZED CHILDREN JUST ONE DAY BEFORE MAKING THIS THREAD.

The entire reason I started this thread is to complain about most gachas having a disproportionate amount of sexualized children and everyone immediately dodged the question. I guess they can't figure it out. I can't even hate on lolicons outside of one thread or else they will all sperg out on me. Fuck this place.

In some ways, I would actually prefer threads about discussion of lolicon hentai, pedophilia, and the like.
Wouldn't you now?

I can't even understand the point of people who play this shit
like you know, it's designed to leech money out of you, and it will never give anything that you want, so what's the point in pouring the water out of the ocean?
Do they like the process? I've seen some footage of the gameplay, and it looked like visual vomit of partical effects and crazy high numbers flying out, but the health bar of the enemy weren't really moving. Which is what I expected, that every enemy is a damage sponge so you would buy every booster or whatever to ease the pain. So it's not the gameplay
Is it the story? Maybe, but I doubt it. No one talks about the story, so I assume it's nothing special and everyone skips it, which is expected since it is a fucking mobile game for Chinese and Korean bugmen. Plus, you can't really flash the story to advertise it.
So the only thing that is left is gooning. Make a big titty generic anime girl #698, stick a halo or wings on her and - boom! You have your new genshin character. You cannot convince me that people play this shit for other reason other than to goon for pixels on the screen. That's literally the only reason to do so.
I played Genshin for about 3-4 months to see what all the hype was about not too long ago. Thought I'd give my perspective, since I'm not what you could call a fan. The visual vomit was there, but it seemed like the devs saved a lot of it for the "cool" characters and endgame fights so I was spared. Those crazy high numbers and barely moving HP bar videos you saw were probably from said endgame. The content outside of these few completely optional areas isn't something you need to open up your wallet for.

The main story is mid anime tier. Some characters are fun and the interactions can be entertaining, but I felt like there were invisible restrictions because everyone you can roll for can't be allowed genuine character flaws that aren't played off as that would take away from the waifu/husbando baiting. Maybe that's just how chinks write their stories. Regardless, it made the straight/funny man routines stilted. At least I got to call my floating infobox fairy a portable MRE.

The side stories and content up to about halfway through the game are what I actually enjoyed.
  • Dragonspine, which is nearly outside your starting location, was fun. People online bitched about the cold mechanic, which is basically HP drain on a timer, I didn't mind. Explored most of it, reassembled the giant viking sword at the top. The norse themes were enjoyable. Finding shortcuts and unorthodox ways to secrets despite the HP drain was as well.
  • China (Genshin) side quests - also fun. Ascended one of the tallest points of the map, a floating island used as a retreat by a mountain spirit, inbetween climbing said mountains. There's also The Chasm, a remnant of the cataclysm that's the centerpiece of the main story, where minor antagonists, mooks that you fight throughout the game, go to die. You explore it as a quest and seeing their final moments was interesting.
  • The cleansing ritual side quest chain was more fun than anything related to the main plot in Japan (Genshin). Somewhat spooky, but also well done.

After that point, I realized how much of a grind it would be to keep up with things and dropped it. Gooning never crossed my mind, maybe I just have shit taste in games. The most memorable characters were the funeral parlor Jewess, autistic Chinese albino and bomberman girl from the starting location (that I later found out was some kind of pedo magnet, which is depressing).

The only Gacha I play is Limbus Company and I hate it because it's a niggerlicious mockery of Lobotomy Corporation and Library of Ruina. Developers sold out to the Der 'cord retards and now the game isn't allowed to have complex mechanics or a modicum of challenge

Otherwise I assume all gachas are pedobait dust for troons too autistic to go to a true and honest casino and lose it all like a real man

For reference in launch in 2020 we only had the starting not-Germany and not-China nations. Dragonspine came out a few months after release and The Chasm was mentioned by a lot of npcs and dialogue but wasn't an explorable area until around 2023. Chasm was the in between area between not-Japan and not-Pajeetland.

I treat new areas releasing same as I would a regular game releasing, that's what I play on my free time until I finish all its content then I just do daillies until the next content comes. But I'm only able to do so since I've been playing since day 1. I can't fathom how a new player can even start.

They actually released buffs for old characters but to receive those buffs you have to play a short story quest about that character. The quest itself is short and they made it so the requirement to play those quest is only finishing the first area's main story quest so new players actually have access to it but the quest takes place during the current patch's main story quest and talks about things that only make sense if you played it after the newest quest. This game's just all around a mess for latecomers.

After reading this thread, I went to lurk in the Blue Archive thread to judge my opinion of it. And I was quite pleased to see that it was focused on the game instead of any goon or thirst posting. Which I found to be respectful, since I have previously encountered some BA fans on Twitter, and they were quite the hedonistic bunch. The sort of degenerate shit they would post was revolting, but at least some of their absurd behavior was funny to laugh at. This image is an example of some of the absurd shit that I saw posted by them.

There was also this incident from WPlace, where in the Blue Archive area, there was a small MAP flag and GLogo. Thankfully, it got painted over with white pixels later on. But it was still concerning how long it lasted there undisturbed.

My impressions of the fandom weren't positive due to the actions of a vocal few. But it's nice to see that there is a discussion of the game on KF of all places, without it being infected by hedonistic porn addicts gooning and arguing over little anime girls. It's nice to see the crazies are being gatekept away from there. The thread being on KF is automatically a big filter anyway, given the site's zero acceptance for those types of gooners.

So good on you for being normal people playing a video game. The game isn't my cup of tea, but I hope you enjoy yourselves playing it, and good luck on your pulls.

OP appears to be a faggot, even having his profile privated.

While lolis or small girls are a problem in these games the predatory practices are the bigger symptoms IMO and it needs to be mocked to hell until it goes away and I think it's one of the factors why gaming today suck ass. The lootbox and gambling mechanics are satanic.

Usually these games also have a) expensive microtransactions, b) retarded time gates, c) energy mechanics and other things that have make for a progression, either randomized everything or anything that bars you into getting said requirement to progress.

I thought OP was going to talk about those but no.

I think the fact OP not only focused solely on how much porn each game had on a website that isn't even purely porn, but also was posting lewd anime women in a thread on Kiwifarms makes me think he might have had less of a issue with Gacha games and more of a issue with the fact his preferred hentai wasn't the focal point of said games.

Some of the gacha games seem like that the devs weren't even trying when they hocked and shipped them out. One example is a game that is literally called Isekai x Isekai, which will be shut down on April 27:

Even Western flops like Concord and Highguard at least tried to suck hard and look like abominations.

I don't think gacha games are toxic beyond the fact that they exploit cattle too weak minded and pathetic to exercise basic restraint. Oh no unvirtuous people with no sense of restraint get light wallets buying video game booba and bepis. I don't feel bad for the cattle at all. It's a good lesson to learn if they go hungry for a week because they just had to buy Burnice White's jiggling fiery booty shorts. Grinding towards free premium pulls is great pacing because you can earn a ton of free currency in almost all gacha games, it trains the mind to put in time and effort for tangible rewards. I've felt dumb myself after getting drunk and blowing $300 on Tier 0 characters that will set me up in the games for life, but that's nothing to me though, so it's not a big deal. To the dudes spending $50K+ on jiggling video game ass, it is also no big deal to them and nobody needs a C6R6 character in any of the content. ZZZ, GI, WW, they all have a ridiculous amount of content that takes days and days of gameplay to get through and that's funded heavily by milking whales, not the common schmuck.
