It does make me wonder why theyd help unless there is some unspoken agreement to keep the place looking lived in?

The appearance of a neighbor's property can affect your property value. Some people will offer to help elderly neighbors with their front yard for that reason.

If a house becomes vacant, some people will also mow it proactively since they know nobody is maintaining it.

Those two possibilities, especially the latter onewke things interesting. Another possibility is those two scenario's make residejts worried the house would become a magnet for thieves and possibly their own properties as well.

Barb might have been moved to a home closer to Richmond too. Tom and Harriet are in their late 70s and if they decided to handle her affairs, they might not want to drive 70 miles each way to look after her. Better to bring her closer to them.

I know its dumb, but I kinda wish someone would look in the windows to see if its been cleaned out or not.

No one wants drugged out squatters moving in to 14blc.

This.

It would be more of a risk if Ruckersville were closer to civilization, but nobody in that neighborhood wants squatters moving into 14BLC.

Ween squatters, on the other hand...

Wouldn't happen. Their mommies don't live at 14BLC to supply them with tendies.

If someone shows up wearing a button down shirt and chinos with a clipboard and a camera, nobody is going to question them being there taking all the photographs they want.

Not sure which thread to ask this, but how long would Chris survive as a homeless?

My experience of the homeless in large UK cities is that there are a surprising number of them who can live for years, decades even.

On one hand They tend to be the ones who are either sympathetic enough that they make enough to scrape by, living in a squat or occasionally a tent and makeshift shelter.
They have periods in the hospital and shelters, and seem to be part of a group of them who watch out for each other.

The others are the aggressive beggar sort who live by intimidating people, be they younger people for “donations” or other beggars to “tax” them for their begging.
Commonly this sort are addicted to drugs, so also resort to theft, burglary, shoplifting, pickpocketing, prostitution and other means.

I hear tell of some who made 200-300 squids a day, which went all up their arms and on sugar.

Anyway digressions aside, the point is that all of the people who survive on the streets are street smart or tough in one or more ways.
Impressive in a tragic way, but our Chris, is a tubby spoiled man child who has never even been in shape and is physically weak.
He has not even had the experience of having to stick up for himself in jail to toughen him a bit.

Realistically, how long would he survive?

The homeless usually die twenty years earlier than shelter people. This, mixed with his age and existing health concerns, he wouldn’t live ten years being homeless.

Sure, that is maximum expected, but I mean in Chris’s situation.

Does he have the wit to go to a public library and when thrown out at closing try and explain his situation to a sympathetic librarian?

Or will he find himself in trouble with the police rapidly, when trying to dine and dash At Macdonald’s?

no, he doesn't, but with his mental disability and IQ, I'm sure he can live in a state-run group home for sometime.

Not long. My guess is some idiot will feel bad for him and let him live with them. Whether it be a family member or an alog. I seriously doubt anyone will let someone as high profile as Chris is be a homeless beggar long. The best case scenario is the judge civilly commits him to a sex offender camps that keep them there "until they are cured" which is never. They call them pedo palaces.

Chris should join the RV live streamer crowd , either onlyusemeblade or maybe even Andy Dick

Im pretty certain Chris will be in and out of jail if he is going to be homeless. He will try hanging out in McDonald's or the library for hours, until he over stays his welcome and starts to disturb others around him.

Chris also has a history of shop lifting, so when the times get hard, he will most likely go back to his old ways and get caught because he stands out like a sore thumb. So yeah, definitely in and out of jail.
