Quite agree that hydration breaks should be had in hot locations.
It's 46°c where I am today, so I need to drink plenty of water even doing nothing really physical around the garden.
BUT if you are going to have these breaks, they should be held on the opposite side of the pitch to the team benches. It takes,seconds to put out a couple of tables for each team. Put the drinks on the tables, and leave the players to serve themselves.
A couple of games did change, due to the coaching talks from the coaching staff during these breaks.
Stop the coaching, but keep the breaks when it is hot enough to need them. I don't think Spain, Portugal or Morocco have air conditioned stadiums, so the need will be there.
Not sure people outside of spanish speaking circles knows but before the Argentina and Spain game Messi and Scaloni discussed harshly. Messi knew that they would lose this way but Scaloni said that there was no strategy left otherwise so they were on bad terms.
The source for this is Kun Aguero, that said that Messi told him that. But seriously Messi was right, but even then I still don't see them defeating Spain if they were more open anyway, so both of them are right and Scaloni was using the safer option.
Hydration breaks are definitely going to stay. Next world cup will be mainly in Spain, Morocco and Portugal during summer. Then the world cup will be held in Saudi-Arabia. Two perfect excuses to have them stay and after three tournament they have become tradition and everyone got used to it anyways.
EFL has changed their financial rules. PSR has been scrapped and Squad Cost Ratio has been implemented. How this works- depending on the division the club is in, squad costs for the first team can only be a certain percentage of the revenue that the team brings in. This amount includes player and manager salaries, agent fees, and transfer fees. This will not include spending on academies, women's teams, or infrastructure. Players under the age of 21 who have not made 10 first team appearances are also excluded. Transfer fees now switch over to cash method of accounting instead of accrual, meaning that a 20 mil transfer who signed a 4 year deal no longer costs 5 mil a year but costs however much that cash installment payment is each year. So if that 20 mil payment is 25% up front, 50% after 1 year, and 25% in year 2, then you take a 5 mil hit up front, 10 mil the second year, and 5 mil the third year.
There is also an ability for owners to contribute 33 million over the span of 3 seasons, with 15 mil max per season, that is allowed to be contributed in order to go over the percentage amount.
Championship clubs can have 85% of their revenue go towards first team squad costs, while League One has been moved to 50% for current clubs and 65% for relegated clubs in their first season down from the Championship. The injection of cash for League One clubs also applies on a 50% rule, 65% for newly relegated teams, where an owner who contributes 500k to the club can only use 250k on salaries.
So where does this story come into play already that is interesting? Well, Oxford United is the current ones who have a potential to pull a Bury with how things currently stand. After finishing 22nd, missing safety by 4 points, they are now under the League One rules for PSR instead of the Championship. Since the owner did not contribute any capital to the club before the new season started on July 1st, they are under a transfer embargo for the rest of the summer meaning they cannot buy players, take players on loan, nor sign any free agents. This leaves them with 2 goalkeepers, neither was the first choice last year, 3 first team center backs, and one first choice forward going into the season. A potential for another Bury is on the horizon

The DFB officially announced today that Jürgen Klopp will be new head coach of the national team.
The interesting bit is that Klopp was still under contract with RB Leipzig and there were lot of rumours (and kvetching) about a transfer fee the DFB might have to pay, rumours where it could be in even over 10 millions. Turns out the DFB is going to give 1 million to a charity run by RB Leipzig and they will do three matches of the national team in Leipzig til 2030.
Please god bring back league football. Fucking World Cup bollix has done my head in for weeks. And the Prem doesn’t start til a couple of weeks after the Championship, fuck me. I’ll be screaming up the walls watching Bristol Rovers at this rate.
