Yes, and fans should have attended the matches in their Austin 7 car, wearing a suit and flat caps, and twirling wooden rattles.

The faclities (or lack of) were 50 years out of date. The only good thing was the seating was closer to the pitch. It was a shit place to get to, and the council introduced unnecessary parking restrictions on match days.

I had a season ticket there for 30 plus years, and going to away games sshowed what a hole it was.

I remember all the rumours (for years) of a new stadium being built on Wansted Flats. That all came to nothing.

I thought that the plan was to make changes to the stadium by redeveloping the seating areas to get tyem nearer to the pitch

Transport is excellent to Stratford, although parking is a bit hit and miss.

I used to go to a pub/micro brewery in Hackney Wick (who's name escapes me) before and sometimes after the game for a while, then I used to go onto the barge on the canal close to the ground.

Now I live elsewhere in Europe, live just 20 minutes drive from a team in the top division, and have a season ticket there.

Can never change my allegiance to West Ham theirs is ALWAYS the first result I check (5-0 win away to Stevenage tonight)
 
Not sure people outside of spanish speaking circles knows but before the Argentina and Spain game Messi and Scaloni discussed harshly. Messi knew that they would lose this way but Scaloni said that there was no strategy left otherwise so they were on bad terms.

The source for this is Kun Aguero, that said that Messi told him that. But seriously Messi was right, but even then I still don't see them defeating Spain if they were more open anyway, so both of them are right and Scaloni was using the safer option.

To be fair scaloni's gameplan would've worked had enzo not gotten sent off, they almost went to a shootout where argentina would've definitely won.

I felt confident throughout that it was going to pk's. Game was only ever going to be a 1-0 scraping by or going to penalties if Enzo never gets sent off, at which point Argentina were heavily favored in my eyes.

On a side note I think most the tourists have fucked off which feels great.

Clearly Spain had a better squad and game plan than Argentina. And Argentina were really frustrating Spain all game. Enzo really fucked things up

Very sad result. I wanted Messi to win and have Trump crown him as the GOAT, but Spain smothered Argentina defensively. Also, the halftime show felt like one of those buffets where they try to fit too many different types of food in it, like Mexican food, Chinese food, and Italian food that ends up being frozen pizza, and only like two of the food groups are good, but Shakira should win the World Cup MVP for her performance.
 
So Argentina behaved like niggers, commiting violence and playing the victim at the same time, while the more brown looking team behaved like white people, industrious and concentrated on achieving their goal (eh) interesting. Now we don't have to hear about this shitty sport for the next 4 years, thank you Lord.

Hydration breaks are definitely going to stay. Next world cup will be mainly in Spain, Morocco and Portugal during summer. Then the world cup will be held in Saudi-Arabia. Two perfect excuses to have them stay and after three tournament they have become tradition and everyone got used to it anyways.
 
Can FIFA stop picking the worst acronyms for the three host countries. First it was the CUM tournament and now in 2030 it will be the PMS tournament.

The Balugon thing is such a tempest in a teapot, but I'd be super happy if Infantino ends up on the outs because of it.

For the record, it was a soft red. If they were going to reverse the suspension, they should have just reversed the card. I guess overriding their corrupt officials on the pitch is one step to far for now, even for FIFA.

The whole thing was only because VAR apparently violated its own protocols in the process that led to a red card, and I don’t think FIFA has much of an appeals process to register a complaint. So we got all the song and dance, especially after Trump opened his mouth.

I’m not sure if that’ll happen. The money made will be sure to get all of Africa, Asia, and Oceania in Infantino’s corner, which means that Infantino will probably win another term as FIFA president. I feel like the most UEFA can do is hope to kill some of Infantino’s more radical ideas like a 64 team World Cup or holding it every two years (and probably hosting it in the US on a somewhat regular basis).

Boycotts won’t work because that just means more spots to give to other continents which aligns with his goal to get the rest of the world and its clubs to compete with the best of Europe, and FIFA competitions can compete with the Champions League by having the prestige , interest, and revenue (again, don’t be surprised if a lot more FIFA events are in the US) compete with Europe.

I can’t see how UEFA is able to make the changes they want until the 2042 World Cup at the earliest, unless something REALLY bad happens that causes Infantino to lose a lot of power and support.

The Balogun thing just proves how retarded Europe is in general. They are complaining more about the rules that need to be followed with regulation bullshit instead of looking at what happened and what should have resulted from it. Never should have been a red card and suspension and FIFA bent the regulations to make the correct outcome happen. Only people who get erections by the thought of countless hours of regulation paperwork and going through the courts with ridiculous laws are angry about this

This is what people don't understand. Every country gets a vote. So the poor country in Oceana that looks at the World Cup earnings being sent to their FA by Infantino and loves him for it gets the same amount of votes as Norway. They can either learn how the game is played or continue bitching and looking like soft little pussies

Pretty much what they've done. Still could be closer but I suspect that it still being required for athletics limits it (the London Stadium LLP/Mayor still call all the shots on most things, including concessions) but its better than it was. Atmosphere issues are more the football being poor and lots of the crowd being tourists (was the easiest way to watch PL football in London), it could definitely get noisy like vs United last season, maybe it'll pick up with a better season in the championship

Oh definitely, your only real parking option is Westfield multistory. I refuse to drive in the smoke so it doesnt get me, but my mate drove once and it took him like 45mins to get out of just the car park

The barge is always a good one, feels like most people just do the stands outside the stadium or just Bat and Ball

They did bend regulations for the USA in other parts. All the stadiums weren't built for FIFA specs. Things that wouldn't fly in stadiums from SA, Brazil and Russia were changed for Qatar and USA.

Qatar was supposed to have 2 more new stadiums but they didn't make it so they gad to continue play into the same ones and the grass at the end of the tournament was seriously fucked in 2022. This didn't happen this year but the entire structure wasn't up to FIFA code
