Final match day for the EFL is tomorrow and there are some games that are worth watching so let me lay them out for you
Championship
Coventry is locked in as the league champs and Southampton have locked themselves into the playoffs. At the bottom of the table, Sheffield Wednesday, Leicester City, and Oxford are confirmed relegated, so lets go over the teams who matter this weekend. Ipswich Town (81), Millwall (80), and Middlesbrough (79) are all competing for the last automatic promotion to the premier league. Ipswich holds the GD advantage with Middlesbrough 5 GD behind and Millwall having no chance to catch the others. The other race is for the final place in the playoffs between Wrexham (70), Hull (70), and Derby County (69). Wrexham hold a 1 GD advantage over Hull while Derby County hold a 5 GD over Wrexham, so the teams are going to need to win and win big to make that final spot.
Games to watch
Sheffield Wednesday vs West Brom (Sheffield Wednesday need to win to avoid having negative points for the season lol)
Hull vs Norwich City
Wrexham vs Middlesbrough (Game of the day)
Millwall vs Oxford
Ipswich Town vs QPR
Derby County vs Sheffield United
League One
Lincoln City and Cardiff City are guaranteed promotion. Lincoln guaranteed win the league. For relegation, Port Vale, Rotherham, and Northampton have been confirmed relegated. Bolton (75) are confirmed to be in the playoffs, but could be anywhere from 3rd through 5th. Stockport (74) and Bradford City (74) are somewhat confirmed although Bradford City have a worse GD than everyone else in the race for the playoffs, so it could spell trouble. Stevenage (72) hold the last spot in the playoffs. Chasing them are Luton Town (71) and Plymouth (70). The GD for everyone are as follows: Stockport 11, Bradford City 6, Stevenage 2, Luton Town 11, Plymouth 11. League One and League Two are strange in that they have 4 promoted/relegated sides so there is still one relegation spot in play. This comes from Exeter City (49) who are still technically alive as they could pass Leyton Orient (51) on the final day
Games to watch
Leyton Orient vs Burton
Exeter City vs Bradford City (Going to call this one my game of the day. Bolton and Luton are pretty big as well, but with Bolton confirmed in the playoffs, this one feels bigger. A draw doesn't help either team, so they both will need to win this game to achieve their goals.)
Stevanage vs Wigan Athletic
Northampton vs Plymouth
Bolton vs Luton Town
Barnsley vs Stockport
League Two
MK Dons and Bromley are promoted (No spots are settled on where they finish but they will both be top 3). Salford City and Notts County are confirmed in the playoffs. Outside of that, everything is in play. Cambridge United (81) are currently sitting in the last spot to go up but Salford City (80) and Notts County (79) can still take that final spot. Grimbsy Town (77) and Chesterfield (76) are the last two in the playoffs but Swindon Town (75) are still in the mix with Barnet (73) who are technically still eligible to qualify as they have a better GD than both Swindon and Chesterfield. The last in the table is Barrow (36) who are technically still alive but need to make up an 4 GD against Harrogate Town (39) who are the other team in the relegation zone and Crawley Town (39) who are out of the relegation zone thanks to a 4 GD lead. Still eligible to go down are Newport County (40) who have the second worst GD in the league (-30 GD and only beated by Barrow on -32 GD) and Tranmere (40) with a -25 GD. So technically no team has been relegated but realistically, 4 teams are fighting for that last relegation spot.
Games to watch
Barrow vs Newport County
Tranmere vs Grimsby Town
Harrogate Town vs Barnet
Crewe Alexandra vs Cambridge United (Game of the day. Barrow vs Newport, Tranmere vs Grimsby Town, and Crawly vs Salford are really big, but this one will directly impact the final day results. The other ones could potentially overturn the results with different results.
Swindon Town vs Chesterfield
Notts County vs Bristol Rovers
Crawley Town vs Salford City
