That's now 5 matches in a row receiving 3 goals per match.
Is that some sort of record? Because it feels like it should be some sort of record.

Lolverpool just managed to lose in the most Liverpool way possible. Went two down, clawed it back to 2 all, came close to taking the lead a few times only to lose to a literal last kick of the game goal line scramble.

So far nobody has mentioned it being a record but I'm confident that whatever the record is we are going to break it. Next week we face Leverkusen and in Champions League we face ... Tottenham.

Here begins St. Arseningham's Day, table is completely open now
*sigh*:( thanks for that

Anyways, fun stuff coming from the Championship:

-Coventry have a 3 point lead at the top with a game in hand. They seem to have thrown away more of their lead to Middlesbrough but they still have 8 point lead in the automatic promotion spots
-Millwall are in the playoff spots. Not a drill, Millwall are in the playoff spots. They have a 5 point gap on the playoff spots and are 1 point off the 2 teams in front of them (they are in 5th) but both those teams have a game in hand.
-Wrexham are currently in the final playoff spot. Watford are a point back with a game in hand but for now, they have the final playoff spot
-Sheffield Wednesday are currently sitting on -7 points with their point deduction in administration. Since safety is 30 points right now, Sheffield Wednesday have 18 games and 54 potential points to turn this around. They will have to do it without Barry Bannan, the player who has been with them for a very long time. I believe he has already played his last game with the club as he is 36 and looking for one last payday.
-Of the 3 premier league teams from last season, only Ipswich are in the promotion race sitting on 50 points with a game in hand. Leicester and Southampton are sitting in 14th and 15th right now with 38 and 37 points respectively
-Norwich City, team notorious for bouncing back and forth from the EPL and Championship with Fulham, are currently in 20th and only a point away from the relegation zones. While fighting off relegation, they are dealing with Josh Sargent drama. The forward turned down a move to to Wolfsburg for $28m in the summer after agreeing to terms and everything. He is now trying to force through a move to Toronto FC. He took himself out of the Norwich squad for their 3rd round victory over Walsall prompting the manager to come out and state that they will need him to fight off relegation. After a tense meeting, it now seems that Norwich are of the opinion he will never play for the club again. Reports of Leeds and Sunderland making offers along with inquiries from West Ham, Crystal Palace, and Everton were all turned down and Sargant wants to go to Toronto FC.

Personally, if Sargant makes the move, I hope he doesn't get into the USMNT ever again. Currently they have Balogun at Monaco, Haji Wright at Coventry, Ricardo Pepi at PSV, Patrick Agyemang at Derby County, and potentially Matko Milijevic at Huracan in Argentina. We have already had this experiment with MLS players and we keep having to learn the lesson that they aren't good enough at the international level. Keep Sargant out if he leaves Europe

Sargent’s a twat for chucking his toys out of the pram. I’ve no doubt the MLS will take him (he wants to play in the World Cup), but acting like a child and also not putting yourself in the shop window by getting yourself dropped from the team is utterly stupid. He’s currently training with Norwich’s under-21 squad, after a tweet from his agent that mentioned the Norwich management saying something mean about Sargent’s family. Absolute kino, shame for Norwich who are usually a solid side.

Everyone in football should be paying attention to what happened at Sheffield Wednesday. Their now ex-owner utterly rinsed them and flat blank refused to invest in the squad or the ground - after he sold off the ground…to his wife’s company. They very nearly had to do without one of the stands at Hillsborough this season when it failed a safety inspection. The owner had been promising upkeep work for a year or more, and produced some bullshit document claiming he had a contract for the work to begin - with a hokum company from Thailand. Of course, no work began. He still sold season tickets for the closed stand, too. The local council relented and the stand is now open, but who knows what will happen to the ground now. A huge club like Sheffield Wednesday (their support is massive, even in their current terrible position) should never find itself in such a situation. Yet again, money is ruining this game that should be based in the community, for the community.

Speaking of which, I really hope Millwall get promoted. Millwall v West Ham would be a thing of beauty for the nice and friendly Sky TV lot.

Ah, it’s been one of those nights where I fucking hate football again.

Every time I tell myself “it’s just a game”. It’s not. It’s way worse than that.

Rumor has it that Ricardo Pepi will be moving to Fulham in January. I hope it happens and I hope he does well so that fucker Sargant can move to the MLS and be left off the USMNT roster
Even if Sargent stayed in England he wouldn't be going to the World Cup. He hasn't scored a goal for the USA since 2019, and he's had plenty of chances. (Fun fact: I was at the friendly against Bolivia where he scored his first international goal)
