Tremendous banter by West Ham to crash the Guehi deal by hijacking the deal for Igor Julio (who was meant to replace Guehi at Palace) and only end up loaning him anyway

Maybe just pay what Palace asked a bit sooner than deadline day?

There need to be people in the backroom who need to go. Why hire him if you are going to fire him at the start of the season? Now you have to find a new manager to take over a completely overhauled (and weaker) squad with no off season.

I don't think any head will roll. Simon Rolfes is the sporting director and one of the two top guys in the club. He retired in 2015 as player for Leverkusen and then joined them as manager and worked his way up through different positions. He's the mastermind behind Leverkusen's first championship, unbeaten run and the double win. Pretty sure he has plenty of credit. The other guy are Fernando Carro who is the chairman and who is also part of the executive board of the ECA.
But I guess it depends a lot now on who they will get as new coach and how the new guy turns out.
Or just some lower ranked behind-the-scences-guy nobody has ever heard off steps back, idk. But Leverkusen isn't really know for hot headed personel decision. Well, usually lol

Rumours have popped up that Max Eberl, director of sport at FC Bayern and responsible for the transfers, might be leaving in December.

And Fernando Carro, the guy from Leverkusen mentioned in my last post, has been voted in the supervisory board of the DFL (DFL runs the 1. and 2. Bundesliga) which is a spicy choice bc of the whole 50+1 ruling that happened earlier this year. The DFL has to follow a ruling that all Bundesliga clubs have to follow strictly the 50+1 rule (50% plus one vote has to be hold by the members so no investor can take over a club) but Leverkusen is one of the few cases that had an exception of that rule. And Carro immediately gave an interview attacking the 50+1 rule.

Work has begun on writing this up. 4 teams in and I am 4 pages into a word document on single space, 10 sized font. A lot of shit happened this summer
The list is going to be the 20 teams in the EPL, Barca, Real Madrid, Atletico, PSG, Marseille, Milan, Inter, Juve, Bayern, Leverkusen, Dortmund. Any other requests? Probably won't have the post out until the weekend so let me know but don't ask for too much. Starting Leeds United on page 8 of this document so its going to be a lot

I haven't been tracking it closely because fuck appletv, but I'm considering trying to do something similar at the end of the MLS season. The league almost doubled their spending, headlined by Son going into LAFC from Tottentham, but there have been a ton of other crazy moves as well. Feels pointless to talk about it at this point though when the season ends in like 2 months.

I have always wanted to follow MLS but there's just no team I really care about enough to try

Alright, the transfers are done. I demand worthless reactions to each post to make myself feel like the 3 days of working on my free time after work to feel like its worth it. Anyways, should be pretty straight forward understanding it

Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana has agreed a loan move to Turkish side Trabzonspor.

The move has yet to be finalised but sources close to the player anticipate it being done in time for him to make his debut against Fenerbahce on Sunday 14 September.

Turkey's transfer window is open until Friday, leaving time to get a deal completed for Onana, who is on international duty with Cameroon.

Onana had been linked with another Turkish club, Galatasaray, but they opted to sign Ugurcan Cakir.

Cakir, who started Turkey's World Cup qualifying win over Georgia on Thursday, joined from Trabzonspor on 2 September in a deal that could eventually be worth 36m euros (£31.2m).

Trabzonspor have been assessing alternatives since that deal was completed and club sources believe Onana could have a major impact.
How do you say say "no backsies" in Turkish?

Venezuela's remaining matches:
Vs. Argentina (in Buenos Aires)
Vs. Colombia (in Venezuela)

It's very possible for them to lose both.
However, Bolivia are not exactly great. Away from their altitude, they are dog shit. Their remaining games:
Vs. Colombia (away, 99.9% chance Bolivia lose here)
Vs. Brazil (home at El Alto)

Hard to predict, honestly. Venezuela picking up one win would end the guessing game, but even that looks unlikely.
And indeed: Venezuela lost both, the last one really mattered. They lost 6-3 at home to Colombia.
Then Bolivia won 1-0 vs Brazil. Wouldn't have given that penalty kick but whatever lol. Not my problem.
Bolivia now goes into a playoff round that will be played in "North America" per wikipedia. They're likely fucked since their wins mostly come from blatantly taking advantage of high altitude at home.

So I was looking into the qualifiers and its insane that 60% of your teams were going to automatically qualify with the opportunity for 70% to qualify. If I was to guess without looking at who I would think would qualify as 6 teams it would be: Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Colombia, Ecuador, and Chile. Imagine my shock when I see Chile are bottom of the table, below fucking Peru

You guys remember David Coote the ref who allowed himself to be filmed shit talking Liverpool and Klopp, and who then filmed himself snorting coke during the Euros? Well he's back in the news, and this time it's less fun: https://archive.ph/Tc1br

Former Premier League referee David Coote has been charged with making an indecent image of a child.

The 43-year-old, who was sacked last year over comments made in a video about former Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, was charged following an investigation by Nottinghamshire Police.

The force said the charge related to a video file recovered by officers in February.

Mr Coote, from Collingham in Nottinghamshire, was charged on 12 August and is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on Thursday.
He was sacked by referees' body the PGMOL in December 2024 following an investigation into a video allegedly showing him making derogatory comments about Liverpool and the club's former manager.

The Football Association (FA) also imposed an eight-week suspension in August over the comments.

In addition, the ex-official is also banned by European football's governing body Uefa until 30 June 2026.

Police said Mr Coote was currently on conditional bail.

The force added the charge of making an indecent photograph related to acts such as downloading, sharing and saving material.

Dont know if you give a fuck but Geovany Quenda is a Chelsea player he’s just at Sporting CP as a loan. He was sold but loaned back for 1 year. Not sure if it has happened before but he’s a Chelsea player

Just a sidenote that in the UK anyone that has CSAM gets charged with creating it because of the way the law works. So he might not have actually made the material, just that he received it. Not that it makes it much different just a lot of the media have ran with that without providing the context of how their law works.

From what I can find, he isn't going to officially move until Summer of 2026. It seems more like a pre contract instead of a buy and loan move. So if I didn't report, that would be why

Homo and a referee, him being a nonce is probably the least surprising thing to come out

West Ham have resigned Fabianski 2 months after releasing him (not the first time we've done this either lol, did the same to Carlton Cole) because our 20m signing from Leicester is shit. Who'dve known.
Wouldn't be surprised with Fullkrugs injury (shock) if Antonio makes a return
