Caught the end of the England vs Sweden women's match and holy shit, the absolute fucking state. A David Carradine sized choke by the Swedes capped off by possibly the worst penalty shoot-out I've ever seen. Even the fucking plebs at the BBC think it was dogshit:

England and Italy will play for the honor of getting the shit kicked out of them by Spain. Germany or France might put up a fight but Spain is the clear favorite right now

Had this video about football fans and ultras in Indonesia in my YouTube recommendations. In the later half of the video it focuses on the Kanjuruhan stadium disaster.

I'm pretty sure that I already had seen it some time ago and it's an older video but it was only uploaded a day ago. Besides the content itself I just love these small windows into football fandom in other, "exotic" regions around the world.

Oh boy, the British women won the euro and now the press over there has to pretend they're the best British team ever even though women's sports are a joke compared to the men.

Just had a fucking horrible evening:

My team played against a shit team in the league and my team loves to lose against weaker opponents then win against the strong ones.

The first 30 minutes we were bombarded and didn't even attempt trying to even shoot against their team. Then when we finally tried they got a counter and scores against us.

At '24 their goalkeeper started stalling for time and got an yellow. Alright then, he is the most well paid goalkeeper in the league and is quite good.

Then in the second half we just completely dominate them like they are shit (they are) but the ball still doesn't enter their goalpost. They start stalling for time again since we pressured them so much.

Then you will not believe this: one player gets subbed out and other goes down claiming he was too tired, this shit goes for 2 minutes. Then their goalkeeper goes for the ground, claiming he was hurt and was waiting for the guy to use the spray on him.

This was already after the two minutes pause, he still kept stalling for time.

Then the judge goes FUCK THIS SHIT and gives him the second yellow.

Players got mad and the game got stopped for 2 minutes again. Then their coach sub a line player for the reserve goalkeeper. But at fucking 89 minutes my team first attempt in this goalie goes in and we finally tie.

1-1

What a nightmare, we should won against these shitters and these 2 points will surely be missed but the fact that we just didn't play for 30 minutes straight in the WORST first half of the year and we still didn't lose is a good thing.

God help us in the next match, and if not, let the devil help us too, we need so much help.

I like when the British women win because the media is all up in their coochies and they remind the men that they haven't won shit. Its just an elaborate way to troll the british even more

I am assuming your team is Internacional? Vasco da Gama just looks like they did a full smash and grab on the road based on the highlights

@DSP's Tax Lawyer

Yes.

We just didnt play at the first 30 minutes, I guess because they thought it was going to be an easy win and they barely tried. Then Inter put their main players and we squeezed a tie. The second half we truly played like it should be but their goalie is quite good.

We also have another competition game so the players were resting for this.

The BBC have been trying to make women's football a thing for years. Anyone who likes football doesn't give a shit.
Actually, it's not just the BBC, EA have been trying too by putting female players in their shitty games.

So the FA have finally admitted they had nothing on Paqueta and had spent 2 years dragging his name through the mud for ????. Even took them a week to announce the verdict.

Ignoring the fact that this whole thing impacted him as a player, it also disrupted a potential move to City for him (who pulled out after the case started). Hopefully both him and the club can sue the FA for lost income. (Been done before, west ham successfully sued the FA for Shaun Wright-Phillips ending Dean Ashton's career at an England camp)

The fact City were going for him might fuck up that case against City for those charges. I could totally see them creating or joining a lawsuit against the FA and settling with getting a slap on the wrist for those 118 charges (or whatever number it was)

Tbh I can see City getting off lightly as it is anyway, they're taking forever to announce the verdict and players are still signing for them

Newcastle United are having another transfer mare.

For context, Newcastle have had a shocking transfer window so far with a large number of their key targets either being swooped out from under them or players just flat out rejecting them for other teams. This includes James Trafford (sold to Man City), Liam Delap and Joao Pedro (both sold to Chelsea), Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo (both sold to Manchester United) and Hugo Ekitike (sold to Liverpool). They're also currently trying to sign Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace but it's more woes since he seems to want to also join Liverpool instead of Newcastle.

They're also having internal issues with Alexander Isak now wishing to move away and the likely destination is Liverpool who have allegedly bid around €130m for him. Newcastle had rejected this, but with Isak wanting to leave, they're entertaining a possible sale while rushing to find a replacement. Their new main target being 22yo Slovenian Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig.

In the last few days they've offered an initial bid of around €75m (+€5m add ons) to Leipzig before upping the offer to €80m (+€10m add ons) to get a quicker deal done before the season starts. However, Manchester United (who finished 15th and have no European football to offer) joined the race and put out a lower bid of €75m (+€10m add ons) while also negotiating with the player before a bid was even placed. Despite Newcastle offering Leipzig more money and offering Sesko UCL football this season, it's now being reported that Sesko has chosen Manchester United and they're currently finalising the deal with Leipzig.

What an awkward summer for them. They've not won a single game in their pre-season friendlies either, including a 4-0 loss to Celtic and a 1-0 loss to the K-League All Stars (literally a bunch of random Korean league players).

They'll get a lot of money if the Isak departure happens but it'll mean nothing if they can't get an adequate replacement in for him. Most teams are finalising their signings and getting ready for the new season while Newcastle have only signed one player so far and their biggest commodity is trying to leave. There's Nicolas Jackson at Chelsea who they want to sell but apparently want £80m for him. Do Newcastle cave and buy him in a panic? Who knows.

Even as a (nominal at least) United fan, it's baffling to me that anyone would willingly join Man U over anyone else, especially a team that has CL football. Even if this season is better than the last (and it'd be pretty difficult to not be given how shit we were last time) it's still unlikely to be particularly good, and returning to Europe seems like a distant dream at best.

It's likely the wages we can offer compared to other PL clubs, but I'd like to think it's the project too with the new players and removing the negative attitude players from the squad. The team don't look as awful as last season so far, and as shit as we are we've reached five cup finals in the last five years and won two trophies. I doubt we'll get anywhere close to top 4 this season but with Sesko we could maybe compete for 6th/7th.

The explanation has always been, these are the players who turn United around. The idea that they come in and make United good again, which would make them legends. No idea if that is the case or not but wages plus that might be a reason for it

I know, "soccer" in the US/Canada is a bit of a joke, but LAFC officially signed Son from Spurs yesterday:
The most expensive transfer in MLS history, going back like... Three months.

Meanwhile second place Vancouver signed Müller (25 years at Bayern) on a free:

Who's topping the West right now? Oh right, the expansion team (new this year), San Diego FC...

The city of LA immediately beclowned itself on hearing about Son:

While for Müller, the memes write themselves:
