It's no different to diving
Its honestly better imo. You clearly cheated but its so obvious and you get a straight red plus a penalty. But end of the game in the knockout phase, better to give your keeper a chance to save a penalty.

in other news, lol chelsea
If Arsenal pick up 3 points this weekend, Chelsea might be in play to get out of the champions league spot

Suarez’ handball might not even be the craziest thing that happened in that quarterfinal game. Sebastian “Loco” Abreu’s Panenka penalty to win it for Uruguay was crazy and ballsy.

This was the moment he stuck his finger in the wound and twisted. I loved it

I basically don't watch football any more, and intended to actively avoid the World Cup, but I'm giddy thinking about all the different ways this could be exceptionally dumb and gay. The football will be terrible, but the media shitshow will be amazing. Whoever at FIFA booked this group is a genius.

After reviewing the fixtures, here's what will definitely happen:

>Scotland get rare moment of glory by knocking out Ukraine
>Everyone hates them for it
>Nicola Sturgeon suggests World Cup qualification would justify IndyRef2
>Wales knock out Scotland because LOL Scotland
>Western countries compete to see who can make the most political statements
>FIFA and based Muslims unimpressed
>England fans caught singing "I'd rather be a Paki than from Iran"
>Black people most affected
>English and American players in tears as they kneel together, ending racism forever
>Substitute Marcus Rashford misses 90th minute penalty in drab 0-0 draw
>English and Welsh fans smuggle beer into Qatar
>"Drunken brawl embarrasses Britain"
>US don't want to work heel in Iran rematch, push LGBT angle hard
>"According to the Qur'an, there are only two genders", says Iranian captain
>Iran 2-1 USA
>US and England go home early, claim they never wanted to play in Qatar anyway

Can you give me stock picks for the next 6 months? This looks too real to not be true

Disgusting display of POZ at the derby d'italia. 2 lezbeeuns singing Imagine before the game.

At this point, Europe is lost. Just wait until 2 minutes into kick off and pray nothing interesting happens at the start of these games
I've honestly given up. Can't even escape by watching match of the day (weekly highlight show in the UK for those who don't know). For almost two fucking years now, right at the start of every show - "this is a continuous reminder that racism is bad, remember to take the knee at home too you bigots". Fuck this shit.

MOTD shouldn't be watched under any circumstance, even before the chimpout of summer 2020.
If you want highlights, clubs usually upload their versions to youtube soon after the match ends, with zero crisp nonces attached

So Everton are utterly fucked aren't they after losing Keane to red card against West Ham? While they both have two games in hand, four points divide them. Now onto the remaining fixtures:

Burnley:
  • Everton (Home)
  • Norwich (Away)
  • West Ham (Away)
  • Southampton (Home)
  • Wolves (Home)
  • Watford (Away)
  • Aston Villa (Home)
  • Spurs (Away)
  • Newcastle (Home)
Everton:
  • Burnley (Away)
  • Manchester United (Home)
  • Crystal Palace (Home)
  • Leicester (Home)
  • Liverpool (Away)
  • Chelsea (Home)
  • Leicester (Away)
  • Brentford (Home)
  • Arsenal (Away)
For Burnley, it's very apparent that Norwich and Watford are going to be must win ties. Those six points alone reshape the lower end of the table. However I cannot realistically see a single match in which Everton could pick up points, especially with how Lampard is organising his defensive line back. With Brentford clashing with bitter Championship rivals Leeds, Burnley hosting once fellow strugglers Newcastle and of course, Everton away to Arsenal (that could also determine European spots) on the final day... These fixtures are going to mean a lot more than I expected if the points continue to align.

Lampard lol

Could a managers career go anymore wrong? From doing a good job at Derby and ditching them at the first opportunity, to being undeservedly gifted the Chelsea job and utterly failing. On top of that, gets absolutely mugged off by Tuchel who comes in and wins the Champions League with the same group of players only months later. Takes some time off, and to be honest probably could have gotten a good job in the Championship again, could have maybe even got the Rangers or Celtic job at some point. Instead, he takes the job at Poisoned Chalice FC, controversially to boot with bonehead blues basically begging for his appointment so much so that they pretty much ran the other (much more qualified) candidate out of the country, and continues his reign of incompetence to the point where relegation is looking likely.

It's all downhill from here I'm afraid. Despite the Everton board not being fit for purpose, Lampard comes away looking no better.

Lampard should look at the careers of Rooney, Gerrard, and Viera to see what should have been his path instead of the shitstain its about to become

I'd like to argue in good faith that maybe Leeds won't survive too, but they've got Watford next. Win that and they'll be sitting 8 points clear of the drop.

Edit: @DSP's Tax Lawyer Well we discussed it a few pages back, but it seems neither of us predicted it would be Crystal Palace to be the one to halt Arsenal

But of course it was going to be Palace. Arsenal can never just finish the job

In other news, Atletico's strategy of defending with 11 men didn't quite work the way they hoped. Wonder if they try that again in leg 2

I hate that the Prem, the most pozzed league in the world, also happens to be the best, most exciting, and most accessible. Probably followed by the Bundesliga, also a pozzed league in a pozzed country that overcompensates for their based past. If Serie A is going to go down this route of domestic abusers singing fucking commie anthems then I'll probably stay away from that too.

How bad is Ligue 1 and La Liga? I haven't seen or heard too much nonsense coming from them although I'm sure there is some. If I don't have to see pride flags, kneeling, and the issue de jour then I might put in an effort to tune in more... but fuck me if just the idea of tuning into Celta Vigo vs Mallorca doesn't put me to sleep.

Maybe I'll catch some RPL games from time to time. They stream for free on YT and have English commentary so there's that.

Lord knows I'll keep watching, but I am tuning in less and less.

RPL streams and is actually decent. Ligue 1 isn't the best quality but fuck me if they don't have any structured build up at all. It is almost like they are rushing to get the ball forward at times and wait for some unknown african or french winger to ball out and pull some magical rabbit out of their ass

That's fucking hilarious. :story:

And if it isn't some Ivorian wonderkid from some 3rd division club over there, then it's the next best thing, a crispy Portuguese or Brazilian who looks the part. :story:

Honestly I have enjoyed watching highlights from Ligue 1 without having anyone to cheer for. Just watching as a neutral gives a shit ton of enjoyment out of how crazy and unorganized some of it is. Plus you can't pencil in PSG winning the league anymore like you can with Bayern
