Was bizarre watching him at the end of the game yesterday. Talking shit to the keeper and shoulder barging Odegaard as if Brazil weren't seconds away from going out, then next minute he's sobbing like a kid

I was rooting for Brazil because of Casemiro and Cunha. Was sad seeing Casemiro's interview after the game talking about how they disappointed all Brazilians and how he was part of a generation of Brazilian players that will be known for never winning the WC. He seemed completely gutted (:_(

Honestly I dont want the US to win the whole thing, but I do want them to get 1 round past Mexico just so we can say we are better than them at a sport we, as a nation, only care about every 4 years.

FIFA is corrupt simply because they view the idea that each nation has an equal voting share, which means backwards fucking corrupt shitholes like Trinidad and Tobego have just as much voting power as Switzerland or Germany.

When half the fucking Caribbean, South America and Asia (as well as a few fucking bent European nations) are filled with the most corrupt pieces of shit known to man, it's obvious that FIFA ends up being a process of bungs. The fucking World Cup venue situation for the past 20 or so fucking years was so blatantly fucking obvious.

The consequences of this tournament look like they might be dire mind, I could actually see UEFA try and create a parallel World Cup within the next decade if European nations start to pull out.

Never going to happen, Spain and Portugal are filled with little sissies who are technically brilliant but wouldn't be able to get in a fist fight at a moments notice. Times like this I wish Pepe was still playing.

Belgium on the other hand have an element of physicality to them, and I do wonder if the US have the mentality to not chimp out if things go sideways.

To be fair, for the first 70 or so minutes of the last game every single call went for B+H and against the US, including the questionable red card. After that card the US players clamped down even harder on defense and even managed to score again to finish the game 2-0. You have to have some level of discipline to do all of that down a man with ~30 minutes to go. I think even if things go really sideways we’ll take our licks, we know we’re overachieving right now anyway.

He's always been a massive dickhead that bought into his own hype. He was heralded as being the next soccer messiah that was going to be an all time great that would lead the new generation of Brazil to glory. Then it turned out he was made of glass and never consistenly played up to his potential on top of being a headcase that is easily tilted.

The sole reason FIFA even gave the tournament to the Americans is because COMNEBOL and CONCACAF were being rumored to merge and create a bloc powerful enough to create, at best, a parallel WC, and at worst, attempt to usurp FIFA outright.
